Have eaten here multiple times now and the food is delicious. Evelyn is a great cook and the customer service is great. The smaller bakery next door has really good cakes and the baker makes custom cakes. The detail on the cakes are perfect. The dulce de’leche Dominican cake is spot on. View all feedback.
What Gina Diamond Quesada doesn't like about City View Kitchen:
Overpriced, small portions full of rice and not enough meat. Staff was rude. I'm Hispanic, and very sad about this place. It had so much potential but they want to be greedy. Won't last long. View all feedback.
What a great option to have in the neighborhood! This place serves authentic food and the staff is nothing short of spectacular. I can see myself being a repeat customer here and trying their different foods. They give great portions, very fair pricing and their food is all pretty good. A few things I would forewarn is that their food can be pretty salty. Hopefully I just had a random bad batch, but the Cuban sandwiches were really salty, but every other aspect of the sandwich was great. The bread was toasted perfectly and the ingredients in the sandwich were all very good. I did ask for my fries to be well-done, but they came out pretty soggy so maybe they just need a better fryer. They did try though by smartly putting holes in the container so the steam wouldn't make the fries soggy. Overall, a really great place that I'm glad I came across. One of the better Cuban sandwiches I've had in Bergen County so go try!
Discovered this spot. Excellent food. Great prices...especially the daily lunch specials. Ordering off of specials takes longer but made to order.
Delicious! Some of the best empanadas I’ve had, really friendly staff.
Today was one of those days I was running back and forth with meetings and needed to order something for me and the wife. Initially, I was going to go to one of my go-to spots but decided to try something different. I'm so glad I did! This Dominican spot really hit the spot with their lunch specials! They're a great value for all that you get with it! Your choice of protein, rice, beans, and sweet plantains. I also ordered their cuban sandwich which reminded me of this place in NYC where I used to get mine from. Perfect crispness to the bread after toasting it with all that delicious mix of sauce, meat and cheese! Thank you City View Kitchen for putting a smile on my face with that sandwich! As an added bonus for trying out this spot, when I went to go pick up my order, the owner was really nice and chatting it up with me for a bit. He let me try this milk drink they made and it was so good! Plus he also had me try this potato appetizer which I was very grateful for. The generosity, how they treat customers and having some solid food choices will now make me a repeat customer!
