I always enjoy the food & eat here every 2 weeks. I always find it fresh & hot. They now always know our order & my beer. Great choices & very reasonably priced. I have eaten in & have it delivered & always satisfied. Jeff View all feedback.

I ordered room service from this place while I was in Ft. McMurray last week. The desk clerk gave me a handful of take-out menus. I unfortunately chose this one. They delivered the food, it was $53 ,and I took one bite of each of the items and I COULD NOT EVEN EAT ANYTHING!! I threw all of the food in the garbage. What a complete ripoff!! Today , on 18th of July I was there at 8 pm, there was a Chinese person serving me (I did not ask his name) very rude and arrogant . He demonstrated me his disrespect when gave me my order. And was talking to me making a mean face. He also reacted when I opened a newspaper and in hostile manner told me to put it back. I am writing that because it might help to make him change such attitude or the owner could find a better employee.
I frequently eat at Taste Of The Orient. This is the first time I decided to write a review and it's not due to the food that I give a terrible review. The food is actually very good. My coworkers and I ordered delivery and when the driver showed up the "bill" which is their menu was used to take the order and they circled what is ordered then a 6.99 soup would be written to be $10 instead. This isn't reflected in the menu on the website. Multiple orders were increased in price. I'm not sure if this is the driver pulling a scam or they are too lazy to get the menus reprinted with the increased price. When I questioned the driver as to why the price was increased he just smiled and acted like he couldn't understand what I was asking about (language barrier). Ask for your price over the phone and make sure it matches. I'll call and talk to a manager today as well. Food is good but beware of pricing.
Taste of the Orient used to be a pretty good Chinese food restaurant in Fort McMurray. I am from Fort McMurray and and I have patronized their business for over 20 years. The quality of their food has declined significantly in the last few years. I used to order take out and or pick up at least once or twice a month. Now I would never go back. So many times I have ordered a dish that did not contain seafood and tasted like shrimp and or rotten vegetables. The so-called Chinese food served at this restaurant does not resemble anything I have tasted it any other restaurant. The service has gotten terrible sometimes waiting up to 30 minutes after I called my order in way before I got there. Lots of other good restaurants in town just stay away from this one. Only reason they're still in business is because this is a Boomtown. Now that it's gone but hopefully they'll go under. One honorable mention if you must go there the wor wonton soup is actually really good. Other than that everything else is ****
