The restaurant is very clean with friendly and attentive staff who don't rush you. The curries are reasonably priced, with the average dish costing £6 and special dishes priced between £8-10. The poppadoms are 60p each and come with dips, with extras added in for free. Sides like naan bread or small chips are around £2.25 each but are delicious. Soft drinks are a bit expensive, but you can bring your own alcohol. Ove... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Spice Avenue:
I used to love this place. It always had friendly service and offered great value for money. My partner and I made it a tradition to come here every Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, it has changed ownership and is now operating under a different name. View all feedback.
Look if you eat alot of takeaway curries go to this place and you will really taste the difference, the flavours come through, the food tastes fresh and the food tastes clean cut! The overall eating experience is divine in my opinion 8/10 The only...let down is the buildings interior, the carpet is well worn...chuck it out and laminate! and the walls could do with neutral colours..white or cream to really freshen up the place because competition is stiff and it is about the whole dining experience, people seldom want to eat in an establishment that looks unclean and I'd hate to see this place go!
A few years ago this was lovely...but now I find the Baltis a bit thin and pricey so tend to opt for the skewers which come in at around £14 but they are really nice. Take your own booze keeps the bill down but on...the whole there are better yet cheaper Balti houses in and around Wolves
We went to Spice Avenue with a group of twenty for someone's birthday. There was another large group in, and no-one else. My curry, a mixed Zalfrezi, was very nice, as were the accompaniments, tarka dhal and aloo gobi. The aloo gobi was very tasty...indeed, but the dhal was slightly thin. My wife had a tandoori chicken bhuna. The meat wasn't the best quality, thin slices of what might have been thigh, but it was fine. The pickles with the popadoms weren't great. The mint yoghurt was a livid green, and the onions in a red sauce wouldn't be to everyone's taste. I had to ask for lime pickle, and ended up with mixed vegetable pickle, which was OK. Some members of our party were less happy with their food than we were, hence 3 and not 4 stars. The most notable observation about Spice Avenue is with regard to its atmosphere. When we last went, about 10 years ago, the restaurant was buzzing, and was deservedly popular. Now, it has the air of somewhere being run down, The decor is extremely tired, and the place feels like it might close down at any time. A shame really.
Sitting there in a group, I am on a gluten-free diet. sorted by what I would have. very good food and service, thank you
At the arrival, on our sitting shown. the device is welcoming and relaxing, the personal is always pleasant and ready to advise to the directed and provide support at any given occasion. the restaurant appears very clean and tidy with a 5 out of 5 hygiene certificate clear. visible on the wall. eating is fresh and always comes hot. average price for a curry is £6 with chefs specialties dishes about £10-£12. bonus; they can bring their own alcoholic drinks and buy softdrinks there. we ordered a selection of appetizers and curries; huhn tikka, fish pakora, lamb naga, huhn and mushroom madras, all beautiful and not overpowered by white pfeffer for seasoned as I tasted by other curry houses. I needed a curry for my 8-year-old, but I didn't want a smaller part of an adult. I was given this to the place of £1 less, which is for a great opinion. nan brote are big, bowls of chips and rice are on the small side and they pay £2 each so they should be a little bigger. poppadoms are beautiful that come with free dives. about everything I give this restaurant a 4/5. I visit regularly and did not find any curry house in woods similar standard. visit them. they will not be disappointed.
