avoid them tables in the line of the door as scarf and cold, asking for one from the draft, oh good. eating lasted one, 50 minutes, provided it was Saturday and busy. eating was fresh and tasty, would be subject to a better table again. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Malabar:
Until recently the food at Malabar has been superb, especially the lamb chops which were the best anywhere. Unfortunately, our most recent two visits have been disappointing with dry, overcooked food and lamb chops which were tough and mostly gristle. Either they have a new chef or a new supplier of produce, possibly both, but standards have definitely slipped over the last couple of weeks or so. Based on our earlier... View all feedback.
Lovely quality food and very tasty! My only niggle is the portion sizes (takeaway) are on the smaller side for the price. Would definitely recommend though
The restaurant is amazing, but unfortunately the food wasn't great. It's a shame because I know you guys can do better. (Curry King)
After trying numerous Indian restaurants in our area, Malabar was one that had yet to be on our list. Despite hearing positive reviews, we decided to give it a shot. While the food was decent, it wasn't exceptional. The restaurant had received awards in 2013 and 2016, but we felt that these accolades were now outdated. Upon arrival, we requested poppadoms to snack on while we perused the menu, only to be told that we couldn't have them until we placed our main order. This was a first for us and we found it perplexing. Eventually, we had to flag down a waiter to take our order. The service was lackluster and the staff seemed indifferent. The food took a while to arrive, as indicated on the menu that it was freshly cooked. When it did come, it was tasty, but my husband's request for a spicier Tikka Masala wasn't honored. We both ordered shashlick dishes and were asked about salad and mint yogurt almost as an afterthought. The portion of salad served was surprisingly small. The waiters started clearing plates before we were finished eating, which was off-putting. We were among the last diners, and the staff began vacuuming while we were still there. Overall, the service and ambiance left much to be desired, and we won't be revisiting this restaurant in the future.
We had a fantastic dinner last night. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It's best to visit during the week when it's not too crowded.

Based on our earlier great experiences we'll give them one more go but there will need to be a dramatic improvement if they're to retain our custom.
