We've just enjoyed the most amazing Indian takeaway delivered directly to our hire boat on the Birmingham canal at Wolverhampton. We cannot thank you enough for finding our boat and delivering a truly scrumptious dinner it was piping hot and perfectly spiced. Thank you so much for making our Sunday evening meal special. xxx View all feedback.
What CurryholicDudley doesn't like about Jivan's:
I like different, and whilst I enjoy eating here I have noted that ironically there is a marked similarity in many of the dishes. Jivan 's is the Marmite of Indian restaurants but worth a visit although perhaps not for a special occasion . View all feedback.
I 'm genuinely baffled as to how this place has managed to get any positive reviews. We had to order a take away due to Covid 19 restrictions and collected it rather than having it delivered. After waiting 45 minutes for the food (having been told 20 minutes) we got home and the food was still relatively warm. This was as good as it got. The single samosa was crusty and looked like it had already gone though the microwave a couple of times. The chicken madras was inedible. Absolutely no flavour, bland and tepid. However it complimented well with the onion bhaji which was equally nasty. The naan bread was only partially cooked so at least there was an attempt to maintain their exceptionally low standards. On tasting the chicken dipiasa the comment was what 's this supposed to be? I 'm still not sure but it certainly wasn 't what was advertised. We ended up throwing everything away after a couple of mouthfuls. This is not an exaggeration. It really was that bad. It would have been much easier to walk outside and throw £30 quid into a drain and save the cost of the petrol to get there and back.A truly awful experience from one of the worst Indian take away 's I 've ever visited.
We were trying to find a pub for a drink, but due to the fact that we were Manchester United fans, all pubs were for Wolverhampton Wanderers fans only..! But Jivans came to the rescue. Nice pint and a chicken tikka masala all round... Just the job. Clean basic restaurant, with good staff.
Yet again.... another great meal at Jivan's. The service is excellent. The waitress is the same lady who was there when we visited in April. She is cheerful, genuine and made us feel so welcome. The food is magnificent. I can't praise it enough. Thank you
