What Harley Robinson doesn't like about Bernardis:
We came across this restaurant on our way to WIN Entertainment Centre for a show. They asked if we were going there and knew we would be time limited. The menu looked interesting and described a mix of Greek/Italian infusion. I had the lamb which lacked flavour. My wife had rissotto which she enjoyed. The lamb was tender and the side of veges excellent but I had to salt and pepper the lamb fue to lack of flavour.It's... View all feedback.
Country restaurants seem to have a practice of over charging the locals for what you would expect to get in a major city for much less. There really is no excuse for charging so much when the overheads are far lower in the country. Meals were delicious but small and therefore not worth the price paid, despite that i rated the place 4 because the attentive service was really outstanding.
We had a booking for 6.30pm and enjoyed cocktails and entree and then the main meal. all the food was really good and the staff friendly and efficient. the atmosphere is good too- we had a corner table and that was really good
We tried Bernardi's for the first time for my birthday this year and we will certainly be going back again. Straight up the service was excellent and the food...OMG...to die for. It made sense at the end of the evening when we were talking to the owner and he told us his mother was the chef. He should be very proud of his mother - she is an excellent chef.We had the pana di casa - and the bread was excellent. Then we shared the aracini and the zucchini flowers - the best we have ever tasted. For mains it was veal scallopini with potato and peas - I have had a lot of veal scallopini and this was among the best I have ever tasted. My dining partner had the slow cooked greek lamb (brilliant) with lemon potatoes and vegetables.Stuffed, as we were we braved dessert. I was boring and had the frangellico adffogato, but he had the orange cake and said it was as close to heaven as he has come.Seriously - try this place. It is in the restaurant row down near the WIN Stadium and if there is a place here that you need to take seriously - this is it.Prices are highly reasonable.
We selected six dishes from the relatively small menu and were very pleased by each one. We like to walk away from a restaurant feeling happy and satisfied and Bernardis made sure we achieved that. Each menu item we tried was tasty, well prepared and presented. The service was efficient and friendly. We are going back again !
