While stranded in Wollongong on a rainy day, I had a great time at Dicey Riley! The atmosphere was good, the staff were nice, and the owner was really kind. They had fun bar games and good beer. I highly recommend this place. View all feedback.
What Consuelo Fritsch doesn't like about Benny's Kitchen in Dicey Rileys Irish Hotel:
The shameful food and the staff at Bistro a r e rude. Do not waste your time or money eating this is disgusting food in a place with disgusting carpet and terrible bistro stuff View all feedback.
Cold beer, amazing food, perfect atmosphere! Welcomed with the aromas of honest, home-made food I sat and enjoyed a silo of ice cold KilKenny during...
This is my favorite place for a few pints of good old Guinness to go with my mates. The bistro food is great and all staff are very friendly....
I can only say that this pub was nothing less than brilliant. Okay, a part of me didn't expect to find such a pub in Wollongong, but then...
Whilst it's no longer called Benny's (I'm not sure what it is called), they've been plenty of fly-by-nighters that have operated the bistro. Most have stuck around for a few weeks and then gone. Well, there are new operators here and I think they're on a winning formula. There's now plenty of $10 lunch feeds as well as higher-priced items. Things like burgers, schnitzels, sausages and mash and fish are all there. I had the slow-cooked lamb shank with mash and greens and man was it wholesome. I'm not a fan of big, stodgy meals especially for lunch but this one was a good size. The mash wasn't lumpy and the lamb was so tender and well cooked (it was $14). I would suggest some more beans but that's about the only criticism. This is about the third time I've dined there since the new operators and both previous meals (barramundi) were great too. I know there are some bad reviews here but go back and give these meals a try.The pub itself is still pretty poor with expensive drinks and bar staff that can't get your drinks right, but just give try out a $10 lunch.
Do Not even waste your time going near this venue! And certainly do not bother eating here! The blonde young lady who takes orders at the bistro, is extremely rude and needs an attitude overhaul! We had a large group attend for lunch. One person asked what was on the burger in which she received a loud sigh from the lady, who refused to tell her as 'I just explained it to the person before you'. She literally had to ask her friend what was on it as the employer refused to answer. Another lady presented a $50 note (as they do no accept eftpos) the lady demanded something smaller as she didn't not have enough change and 'I don't want to have to run over there (to the bar) to get enough change'. When I ordered, I asked for a simple garden salad, in which she replied it wasn't possible to do that. I ordered the Caesar salad without chicken, cheese or dressing but asked to add tomato and cucumber. This employer then began to stamp the pen into the paper and scribble and wrote aggressively, and replied 'so basically you are asking me to remake a garden salad' followed by a filthy look. Fair enough I'm sure it's extremely annoying, but there is no need to act so unprofessional and rude.
