I got Tonkotsu without egg and it was really amazing! I think I’ll get extra bamboo, make it vegetarian without the pork, and add mushrooms next time.We also got the Gyoza (pork dumplings) that were to die for, and the spicy edamame that was really good. View all feedback.
What Dominic H doesn't like about Ramen Shack Food Truck:
I used to love the ramen at the restaurant, from their beginner meals to the ramen itself. I first tried it when it was just a food truck and really enjoyed it. However, recently I've been disappointed with Ramen Shack due to it being closed when it's supposed to be open, closing early, and a decrease in the quality of their ramen. This is the best ramen spot in Lubbock and possibly all of west Texas. I highly recommend it with a 10/10 rating.
First and foremost, this is not a food truck, which was a relief on a hot day. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the food, which was a plus. The onigiri was simple and fresh with sushi rice, tuna, and nori. The spicy mayo could have used more kick. The Tonkotsu Pork ramen broth was even better than a place I normally order from in Dallas, and slightly cheaper. The broth was rich and the buckwheat soba noodles had a good chewiness. Even the marinated egg was spot on. Overall, the food was delicious and I will definitely be returning. Service was great, and the average price per person was $10-20 for a dinner meal.
