Feedback
Wonderful food, we were going to do light lunch, but then looked at the menu. WOW. We did the Chef's recommendation and had 3 courses. It blew our mind. First time we've tried cuttlefish which was really nice and the dessert was amazing. Of course the wine was excellent too. Would thoroughly recommend Watershed to everyone and will go there again next time we are down south.
The restaurant is off from the cellar door like dost in the region. House in a high ceilinged space that never feels crowded. Really enjoyed eating here (our first lunch in the region). The table we had was spectacular - at the front in the corner over looking the vines. For food - a lovely 48 hr cooked steak which literally fell apart as you ate it. My wife thought it was a touch too salty for her tastes but for me, I loved the richness of the flavours. Accompanied by a 2010 estate cab. All in all excellent. We also dined with our three year old and could not have been made more welcome. He also loved the big lawn outside the restaurant, the playground just outside and discretely tucked away but walled in so very safe. Service also deserves a special mention. Fun, witty and attentive. Thanks. Lovely experience for lunch. Why not 5 stars - because there is some pretty tough competition in this neighbourhood. Make sure you go though - it is a benchmark.
We had the pork which was very tasty and the fish of the day, barramundi. As the chef had trained under Rick Stein it was no surprise that the fish was excellent. We had no room for dessert but they were very tempting. We tasted some wines before lunch and our selection worked well.
Very nice tasting for $2! This winery is small and it was very quietThe tasting sheet was extensive - One side of whites and the other reds.
