Avoid room #3; it's overheated even with the radiator off because the heating pipes run through it. Plus, there's a very unpleasant smell. The window doesn't work; a makeshift lock has been installed. The faucet washers need replacing. On the plus side, they agreed to move us to another room.
We came across Le Normandy on a bank holiday when many places nearby were closed. At first, I didn’t realise it was part of a hotel, as it looked more like a traditional restaurant or pub from the outside. There were four of us dining, and when we arrived the waiter mentioned a minimum spend for dining, which wasn’t an issue as we were planning to eat properly anyway. The menu was quite focused, with a small number of options, so we didn’t spend too long deciding. What stood out to me was a cold seafood platter, even though it was a chilly day. I went with that and it arrived as a large plate with a mix of seafood, including crab, prawns, mussels, and oysters. It was generous in size and easy to take time over. The others at the table chose warmer dishes, including a chicken dish with mashed potatoes. Inside, the space felt cosy and rustic, with lots of wood and a slightly old fashioned feel that suited the setting well. The waiter was friendly and took time to explain things, which we appreciated, especially as we were speaking English in France. I skipped dessert and finished with a coffee instead, and by the end it felt like an easy place to settle into for a relaxed meal.
We had an incredible two days. Very clean room, impeccable bedding, all comforts, very good breakfast with a choice of sweet and savory dishes. The evening meal had a very nice menu with a wide selection. The waiters were excellent, funny and super helpful, with extensive knowledge of their wine list. We will definitely be back. Very good food. Restaurant in a great location. Excellent ravioli, it's a shame they don't have homemade pies.
We stayed at this hotel on the nights of February 5th and 6th, 2025. The location is excellent. The room was decent. We slept very well during these two nights. The breakfast was adequate for us; a hot drink, orange juice, toast with butter and jam was enough. The manager was very friendly. We weren't able to eat at the restaurant in the evening because we arrived late in the day and hadn't reserved a room. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly person. He agreed to rent us a room because they were going to close the hotel due to being unavailable. Thank you for their welcome. Free parking. We recommend this hotel. We will be back.
