We really enjoyed our visit to Cascade Cliffs Vineyard. We were staying “in the area” about 45 minutes away, and were glad we made the drive. The scenery was beautiful. We were taken aback by how much the environment changed from lush green in the Hood River area to Cascade Cliff’s more arid environment. The cliffs were breathtaking. (And we could see Mt Hood, too! They had a small seating area outside, covered in gr... View all feedback.
What Brandy Considine doesn't like about Cascade Cliffs Vineyard Winery:
Beautiful location and very friendly people. Whites were very refreshing on a hot day, but nothing great. When I came from California, I was quite shocked at the price for most of these wines. I mean, maybe I'm a little biased, but we're also in Washington and Oregon for wine. The wine here is good, not great, and definitely not worth the $60 a bottle for their signature wines. I would say most of what we tasted were... View all feedback.
A favorite experience... In years is wine tasting! Lovely people, amazing wine, and we're eager to return!
I love cascade cliffs. I first visited circa. 2006; it has remained in my memory as it was the first place I ever tasted barbera, nebbiolo and dolcetto. as a weeping professional in the industry I have since expanded my palate with DOC/DOCG wines from the piemont (some of my faunas I returned after all the years recently to the winery, and I must say that their barberas are still impressive and unforgettable bright, complex and great wee! my bf and I had a WONDERFUL sample rachel with our last one. she took care of us and even opened a 2012 reserve nebbiolo for us to taste what was excellent. (we brought a bottle of it for a special occasion to house if they don't like Piedmont varietale, no worries. they also make a few white, cab sauv, syrah, malbec, tempranillo and others. in cascade cliffs there is something for most palate. I highly recommend visiting the original tasting room in the weingut in wishram. the location is spectacular next to the mighty columbia with protruding cliffs of basalt above. when they go in good weather, they enjoy outside under the wine-rebe arbor sitting so a perfect place to taste and enjoy their weeping. I look forward to coming back soon!
Great wine, better people. I recommend the sangio and the nebbiolo. Wow!
This is a great place to visit and the wine is super.
Painfully slow with tasting. No excuse being busy as the four person group left and we were alone in the tasting room with empty glasses after one taste. Second time visiting and the host always disappears in the back leaving us with empty glasses.Club members due to the yummy wines however you are not the only winery to discover nor enjoy. Planned additional case purchase today but with no service we walked with our club selection. Sad we will cancel after our one year obligation.
