Lovely, well worth seeking out just off the main drag. Great ales , service and friendly punters
Always meant to try this place but never really had the opportunity before . Visiting with my brother I found the place very warm and welcoming . The woman behind the bar was friendly and chatty as was her replacement . This is a seriously good pub , with a very good choice of real ales . The Neck Oil was especially nice . I will definitely be back sooner rather than later . The locals must be so glad that this place has kept going over the years . Keep up the good work !
A pleasant surprise to find that this tiny and un-spoiled pub remains not only open but thriving. On the occasion of my visit there were four real ales and all appeared well kept;White RatRobinsons Unicorn Purple MooseBoltmakerThe pub is multi roomed and there was a roaring fire. This is a traditional pub popular with dog walkers and has a charming snug bar.An oasis
Escaping the nearby Holiday Inn Express (qv) I found this delightful back-street pub...I only intended to stay for a quick one, but from the moment I walked in, when I was greeted sincerely by the young lass behind the bar, I felt so welcome. A choice of four cask ales took some choosing, but encouraged by the locals (who wouldn 't let me drink alone) my swift one turned into a four hour session, mixing great beer with enjoyable conversation.I 'm looking forward to coming back. Cheers!
My hubby and I popped in here for a drink whilst we were out for a drive. It looks so tiny from outside but was surprised when we entered it was like the Tardis. It seemed like everyone knew each other as the banter was firing in every direction! We were made to feel welcome and apparently every other Tuesday they put food on last nights was Italian, 2 weeks time it will be French I believe. I had better find my beret and string of onions as we are defo going. Hubbys pint was a fine cask too. Well done to you all.
