The food is excellent, and the newly renovated space looks wonderful. The service is very friendly, and the staff genuinely puts in a lot of effort; however, it may not be the best choice for those in a hurry! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Anchor Inn Premium Country Pubs:
The service was extremely slow, and the food was disappointing. We thought our order had been forgotten and waited a long time for the starter, only to receive the wrong dish. After another long wait for the main course, it appeared to have been sitting under a heat lamp and was very dry. We didn't voice our concerns during the long wait, but we left feeling quite disappointed. View all feedback.
We are regular diners here, and normally we have a very good experience, but on this occasion food was not as good as usual, and being told that I couldn’t have the cheese board because the cheese was being saved for mother’s day annoyed me.

Service was very slow; took 30 mins to take food and drinks order and then another 35 minutes for the food to arrive. Food was also disappointing sea bass dish lacked flavour and the skin wasn’t at all crispy, basic things you expect when you’re paying over £16 for a dish. Overall, very disappointed.
Great Sunday roast except the roasties which let it down....looked and tasted like boiled with an attempt vat a crispy outer. Beautiful dessert just portion size to cost was disproportionate...too expensive! OpenTable booking was not registered with the venue although confirmed via email. Not very reassuring and unlikely to book by this means again.
Lovely menu, in a warm friendly relaxing environment. Thank you.
