Contribute FeedbackRiviera at Hillbark has impressive surroundings but falls short on food quality. The Chef's choice tapas lacked variety and vegetables, with some dishes being overly salty. Customer service also received mixed reviews, with cancellations made last minute. Posillipo in Faversham, on the other hand, boasts warm hospitality and delicious seafood dishes. Hillbark's fine dining restaurant offers top-notch meals and service, despite some hiccups with timing and quiet atmosphere. Overall, Riviera shows potential with its menu variety and attentive staff, making it a worthwhile destination for a special occasion.
The riviera is the restaurant in the hillpark hotel. this hotel is a beautiful 1850 house in the most spectacular gardens and parkland. the menu was a beautiful balance of brittle and european. we started with a small pasta and my partner with warm garnels. our main course was a joint course of the seabrassen. we had not experienced this concept to share a primary course before. this meant that the overall cost was very appropriate. there was a good sweet menu. also a very wide choice of wine. After that we could congratulate the chef. he had already taken over a week before. his expertise and enthusiasm was so obvious. the service was very attentive and friendly. will definitely go back to taste its ideas for future menus. it was a beautiful experience.
I think our short-term booking by opentable threw them surprised, so it took a while to put us, also did not help us to change our opinion whether we eat outside. After we have said that the amount of time we spent waiting, sitting and getting our food was really long, fortunately the restaurant is in a beautiful building, but I think fewer patient customers would repel. the staff was nice and the venison carpaccio small plate was great.
Eating was excellent as the service value, but it took 1 hour and 20 minutes since the arrival to be served our food. that was too long as we were with us a very prosperous 1 year old.
Esthetic venue, however, due to the appalling service. the table next to us has gone for the bad service
We got married at Hillbark 11 years ago and had heard about Riviera so wanted to give it a try.. I'm not one for being negative but i felt the Food didn't live up to the setting HIllbark brand at all. The cellar was a fantastic space, however, the Food disappointed us on so many levels just didn't have that special factor very mediocre for the venue price.. We went for the Chefs choice tapas and felt it was very piecemeal in it's serving and content. No vegetables, duck was very salty, they gave us a double beef portion even though one of our guests had said they don't eat beef and the presentation was literally just beef or fish on a plate with a small token of chips... I'd love to go to Hallbark again as the building is beautiful, but with food like that i'm afraid we wont be going back.
