Great food, very interesting menu concept. Ordered 4 small plates and a large plate to share between 2. Food was very well presented and tasted as good as it looked. Very attentive service by Sherry. Excellent night overall. View all feedback.
What Anne B doesn't like about Riviera:
The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, but the bold carpets are not to my liking. The food is delicious, but it may be a bit pricey considering it is traditional cuisine. The service was outstanding, and the staff was incredibly welcoming. View all feedback.
Dissapointed and underwhelmed with the tasting menu. Food average at best and certainly not worth the price.

This is a fascinating setting at a hotel within the now restored old hospital at Port Sunlight. We had lunch on a Friday. There was a wide range of options available despite the restaurant being very quiet. We had a variety of small tasting dishes which were very well presented and served tapas style. There was a good range of interesting wines available by the glass more than is usually the case. Service was very good. Worth a trip out both for the restaurant itself and for the surroundings.
Seriously tucked away in Port Sunlight village, once we found it, we were impressed from start to finish. The welcome was warm, with several bar areas offered where we could take a pre-dinner drink. The dining room itself was simple and atmospheric, and the only real complaint we would have about the ambience was the mismatch between the elegant menu, staff and setting and the bizarre choice of R+B soundtrack! The wine menu was enormous, with the unusual bonus that any could be ordered by the glass, with upgrades offered at no extra cost to bottles already open for other customers. All the food was well cooked, and thoughtfully presented. Particular credit goes to the perfect fillet steaks, and divine butterscotchy burnt english cream.
