What a delightful discovery! Located right in front of the Wake Forest Campus, this spacious bistro and bar is a true hidden gem. The ambiance features great music, an enticing drink menu, and a delicious selection of outstanding dishes. I particularly enjoyed the classic rock tunes, which perfectly complement the relaxed vibe of the place. Will, the owner, goes the extra mile to ensure that Silo is run with high sta... Came here for lunch with co-workers. The food was just Ok. I got the chicken salad on a croissant. I have had better chicken salad. There was confusion in the kitchen. They got a member of our party's food wrong twice. Everyone else enjoyed their food. The party I was with said the food had been better when they dined there before. The inside decor was filthy just old. The place was busy so people seem to like it. I... View all feedback.
That was my second visit and our meals were as good as the first. In spring we ate on the pleasant terrace and it was great to eat outside without traffic noise. The restaurant is in converted milk bar. The sandwiches were big and came with one side or soup. I had French dip beef with Pesto Mayo and heap of chips. Service was fast and friendly.

Service was great! Food was delicious and delivered fast. Kids grilled cheese was too fancy for my kids. The menu online is 3x more expansive than the actual menu in the restaurant. The prices were ok. I about blew a gasket when I saw that my Southern Belle (whiskey and cheerwine) was $11.00. It was a whiskey heavy drink and soda. That's an obscene cost IMO. I'll come back, without kids, and will not purchase mixed drinks.
I used to eat here often, and the food was fantastic; however, I hadn’t been in a few months. Now, they have changed the way they make their sandwiches. I ordered the Brie Apple Fig sandwich, which I’ve had many times. This one was not grilled. It was barely even warm. The bread was disgusting. This was hands down the worst meal I’ve ever paid for. It tasted like a crackhead made it from the cheapest ingredients found in the dumpster at the trailer park. And the potato salad was so bland I had to pour on the salt and pepper just to choke it down. So sad. I will never go back.
So, I wanted to love this place. I thought it would be a cute, casual, ecletic sandwich shop with an interesting menu. The online menu looks great, but the menu we were given had very few options. We waited up front for a while before anyone greeted us. We actually had to ask the kitchen staff where we were supposed to go (you can see right into the kitchen from the host stand. We went into the bar area and were intercepted by the hostess/server who told us that was the only place to sit, although there were many open tables. She read us the specials begrudgingly and very quickly. First impression was that the restaraunt was very dirty. The floor was definitely in need of a mop and broom, there were crumbs all over our seats, stuff splattered on the wall with hair stuck in it, and my husband's water glass had lipstick on it. The glass his cocktail was served in was also dirty. The crab dip was good. The bread on the French Dip was okay, but the meat, etc. was not good. It was cold and the pesto mayo tasted off. The chicken salad croissant was not great either. The chicken salad tasted old. They were out of the soup of the day, so we got the tomato bisque. It was spalshed all over the sides of the bowl. It appeared watery, yet chunky, and it was cold. It definitely wasn't like a bisque. It honestly looked more like a tomato thrown in a blender. The service did get better. The server was friendlier toward the end of the visit. We didn't complain, but she noticed I didn't eat the soup and asked about it. I told her it was cold and she offered me something else, but I declined. It was good that she noticed and tried to make it right. She did take the soup off of the bill. All in all, now we know. It was quite pricey for what it was. Unfortunately, it's not what I thought it would be and I have no desire to return.
