I recently visited Melrose for the first time, and as a student struggling to focus on my studies at home, I really enjoy discovering interesting coffee shops to break up my day. In Winston, it can be tough to find new places that inspire me to study, but Melrose might just be my new favorite spot! What User doesn't like about Melrose Coffee Wine Bar:
Happy to find this coffee shop right when I was really wanting coffee. They have an enticing menu of coffee drinks but I had the Cubano Cafe con Leche. It was fantastic. Best I’ve had outside Havana. I was a little thrown by the outside of the cafe; it looked more like a salon to me and you can’t see inside. But I’m glad I went in. It’s spacious and quiet, just a few people working on laptops. I recently visited Melrose for the first time, and as a student struggling to focus on my studies at home, I really enjoy discovering interesting coffee shops to break up my day. In Winston, it can be tough to find new places that inspire me to study, but Melrose might just be my new favorite spot! The café has a sleek and trendy aesthetic, and they offer a wide variety of drinks to choose from. On my first visit, I tried the lavender rosenspiela, which was fantastic—it tasted delicious, looked stunning, and provided me with the energy I needed for the rest of the day. I'm excited to return and sample more of their drink offerings. I can't wait for my next visit!
They had a lovely selection of baked goods as well, and another barista shared their favorites. For drinks, I tried the hot rose latte, which was served at the perfect temperature. The flavor was interesting—the rose essence was subtle and not overwhelming. Overall, it was a delightful change from a traditional latte. Next, I had the iced Ferrero Rocher latte, which was quite nice! It was served cold and featured truffles, striking a good balance with not being overly sweet while still delivering a robust coffee flavor. As for the baked items, I ordered a cheese pastry and an almond croissant. While they were both decent, I wish they had been a bit fluffier and more filled. I had my baby with me, which made it challenging to manage everything, but a barista kindly offered to help me carry my items to the car! I have to say, the service here is incredible. My only wish is that they had tables and chairs available to eat in; I wanted to enjoy my food there, but since everything was full for dining in, I ended up taking it to go.
This cafe and bar has a trendy vibe. The signature latte was not only visually appealing but also delicious. I would love to come back at night to enjoy some drinks someday.
I've been on Yelp since 2008, and with my husband even longer... yet in all that time I don't think I've ever heard him urge me to review a place. Until now. We moved to Winston a couple of months ago and Melrose has quickly become his favorite coffee shop in town. Full disclosure I am a California transplant so probably biased but the aesthetic of this cafe is totally my jam. Classy, hip, chic...and yet still inviting and cozy enough to kick back here. It's hard to find anything else like it here. The coffee variety here is great. I am a HUGE fan of the dalgona here. I was a coffee shop barista in college and we have our own capability to make americanos, cappuccinos and lattes at home, but when we have time for something special, Melrose is our go to. I think my husband was worried because it's never too crowded in here unlike some of our favorite coffee shops in Chicago and SD, but I honestly think that it's just a reflection of the different culture population size in Winston. I love that we always have a place to sit here if we like. But you should go visit! And don't sleep on the dalgona.
Not your usual caffe. not your usual coffee. coffee is not funny anymore. it became so mediocre and, to be honest, it no longer fits to the description of what a coffee is. melrose coffee and wine bar takes her coffee experience to another level. his unique taste will make you hate dieucks and other mainstream cafés, as they benefit from you by drinking their pseudo coffee drinks. I live 30 minutes away from their business, but it is worth the trip every time. the ambiente of the load is very modern, but very relaxing. they have enough places for everyone to gather while they are on a good cup coffee. my favorite by far is her blueberry lavender latte. I don't know how they do this, but with the full of the coffee mixed with the taste of blueberry and lavender is impeccable. Just try! what are you waiting for? my assessment is not fair until they experience it themselves. a hidden gem in the triad. I can't wait until they expand a location in greensboro high point range!
