What Kayla Jacques doesn't like about Miya Japanese Bistro:
We ordered salmon hibachi and shrimp hibachi lunches to go. The packaging was well done. Food prepared well and taste was good. Portion size on the smaller side...was able to finish our lunches without leftovers. But got to say it wasn't sustaining...Ifound I was hungry about 2 hours later...however food was good, will go again. Update: ordered the bento boxes 2nd time. Stopped here while visiting Winona with my fiancé on a Sunday evening for dinner. The host/waitress was very friendly and you can tell they put a lot of effort into getting to know their patrons. Our food was very good and I’d recommend the chicken katsu. The presentation was super fun and gave us an experience to remember! We could overhear the waitress/host talking with other patrons and took the effort to remember things about them and striking up conversations which was a really nice personal touch.Some negative : they are a family business and it is great to see them thriving however I can see some patrons being turned off by a baby crying through their meal. The older children are very well behaved and babies will be babies but it can be a little bit of a mood killer.Secondly with the singular host/waitress it makes service take a long time. We got all of our food quickly but we had to wait 23 minutes for the check to be brought to us after we had asked for it which was a bit irritating.Overall I would go here again and recommend people to give it a try. Just be aware that it’s a lovely but small family running it so service may take some time but the food will be good!
We truly loved this restaurant, the best in Winona. Highly recommend it. The food is delicious, the place is clean and has a very pleasant atmosphere. The service is super friendly and kind. My daughter and I were glad to find vegetarian choices for us. Great food at a reasonable price. Do not miss it!
