Contribute Feedback What Sandra Searle doesn't like about Wok N Roll Chinese:
I entered the restaurant, despite the sign saying it was open, to find a dimly lit dining room with only the light shining over the pay station. A man who seemed to speak no English was sitting in the dark, and when I asked if they were open, he appeared frustrated. Zero Stars! My husband and I took my Mom out to Wok N Roll. It was so dark in there and we were the only people in the restaurant. I did not have a good feeling about it. I should of went with my gut feeling but it isn't easy transporting my elderly Mom so we stayed. The consume soup was terrible but the noodles that were in the soup tasted like chemical to me. The oil must be very old and it made it taste like the food was bad. We tried the fried rice and it wasn't very good either. Then nothing came out for the longest time. The egg roll had some black stuff in them and I wasn't sure what was in them so we didn't eat them. We ordered the dinner for 4 so we had many dishes. The lemon chicken batter was raw and the chicken was overdone. We didn't want to be there any longer so we asked for take out containers. The lady brought out the containers but they felt slimy. That was the end of it. We left all the dished on the table and left. We didn't even taste the shrimp or chow mien dish. My husband told her that we didn't enjoy the food and she still charged us $60.00. Save your money and find another place. Will never go back again. I entered the restaurant, despite the sign saying it was open, to find a dimly lit dining room with only the light shining over the pay station. A man who seemed to speak no English was sitting in the dark, and when I asked if they were open, he appeared frustrated. I was about to leave when a woman emerged from the kitchen and confirmed they were indeed open. I ordered a bowl of hot and sour soup, which she then proceeded to angrily instruct the man to make. Despite the commotion, I ended up with a bowl of soup that tasted almost entirely of vinegar and contained strange, unidentifiable substances that resembled chicken skin and earthworms, with no sign of traditional ingredients like chicken, tofu, vegetables, or mushrooms. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this restaurant.
Never ordering from here again. The beef and mixed vegetables were mostly onions. Hardly any beef at all. The chicken was just over fried breading, not even edible and the sauce was so thin it made the bottom of the sesame chicken soggy while the top was too hard to even eat. The mushroom fried rice tasted like their soya sauce went bad. The shark fin dumplings were all torn up and what I did manage to eat gave me an upset stomach for the rest of the night. Threw the rest of it in the garbage. I 'm going to call for a refund tomorrow but I 'm doubtful considering the rest of the reviews. Really disappointing. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE unless you like feeling sick.
A staff showed me bad attitude, impatience over credit card transaction. 1.She did not know how to accept a non-chip credit card with her own PoS terminal, she did not listen to me while I TOLD her to swipe, she inserted my card into the chip-reader slot then got lost. I had to show her how to swipe the magnetic strip through. 2.As my credit card is non-Canadian, her PoS prompted to choose between CAD and my base currency, she did NOT TRY TO UNDERSTAND. She then patientlessly asked, why is that everytime appear? I had to swipe my card a THIRD TIME then chose the currency option myself. Do I have to teach her English language and tell her how to read the PoS? How is this person able to run a business in Canada if she NEVER LEARNS?
Ordered delivery from this place. We had the dry breaded veal, there was more breading than meat. Very bland taste. Also got the lemon chicken, it tasted like it was fried in old oil, the lemon sauce was almost flavourless. Fried rice was also bland. The shrimp dumplings were ok. Overall it was a poor experience and probably wouldn't order from here again.
