We always visit the Original Pancake House when in Winnipeg! The coffee is good, the selection if great! We had waffles, with strawberry! The Best was the original Pancake, which looks like a huge fat disc! Served with fresh lemon, sprinkle powdered sugar and maple syrup. Excellent! The other item ordered was the eggs Benedict and they were served well! Great service, very attentive! Very clean! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Original Pancake House:
Most items were very overcooked and either tasteless or very salty.Their stuffed crepes were either very thick crepes or very thin pancakes, but they were not crepes. My hot turkey sandwich was definitely "diner" fare, however it was tepid gravy poured over tasteless mystery sliced meat.I would go anywhere else and get a decent meal. This was not cheap! Enjoy 3 breakfast meals here in the last week (in the clarion kept) and all the different breakfast foods from eggs benedikt to the apple cake were delicious! service by mandeep was particularly extraordinary, but all the servers we had were great! the restaurant was very clean. rate the great children's menu and the frequent coffee top-ups!
I do not recommend this restaurant as they do not offer Caesars or mimosas, gluten free hash browns, and the eggs were overcooked.
We went for brunch and asked for a caesar no luck. They only have canned seltzers. No mimosas either. Then we went to order and right away was told they had no more gluten free hash browns. We ordered French fries with our breakfast. When our food did come out it was cold. The eggs were over cooked when asked to me over medium. Overall not a pleasant experience. But the wait staff was nice!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free.
Great place for a family meal. Lots of choices on the menu with good portion sizes for the price. Try the giant apple pancake, potato pancakes (latke style) or a veggie crepe with hollandaise sauce. Very good kid's menu as well. My son loves the waffle with strawberries or the character pancakes. The staff are also nice. Highly recommended.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetation options, not sure about vegan but the staff seems very accommodating so I'm sure they can get you something to meet your needsKid-friendliness: Extremely kid friendly. Good kid's menu as well as crayons and activity sheet to keep them entertained. I have seen all ages here from 0-100!
