The Original Pancake House - Winnipeg

Had breakfast at this restaurant. Service was excellent, food was very good. The only negative part is they don't have meals with fresh fruits. They use more compote. All in all it was very good. Had the waffle with banana's (fresh) and compote of strawberries. Add a little maple syrup and all is good.

I ordered banana pancakes. I was surprised when the server stated the bananas are not mix in the batter, but rather just sliced up & place on top buttermilk pancake. That's awful & cheap for a place that claims they "specialize" in pancakes ! At IHOP, it is a true bannna pancake! Also their prices are better & U get more for the price Go there.

My Husband & I came here for dinner on date night. The food was well prepared, tasted great, & filled us both up! We left feeling full & happy. The price was also right for what we got. The servers were friendly. We will be back.

CELIAC CLIENTS BEWARE! While this restaurant offers a GF waffle and pancakes, they don't take a lot of care to ensure that you get the correct waffle. I had to the misfortune to discover this on June 11. While I had had several good experiences in the past, getting the wrong waffle once is once too many, especially considering the lack of caring and concern following the experience. When I returned to the restaurant a week later to show the staff my ambulance bill and anticipating hearing of new procedures in place to eliminate as much as possible someone receiving the wrong waffle.... the supervisor on duty had no time to speak with me, took my number and advised that the manager would be in touch. Ok, but after 3 days no one had called me back. I called the head office in Winnipeg and left a message for the operations manager. He returned my call, seeming to know all about the episode. His response was "Well why didn't you go to the hospital right away?" I explained again, as I had explained to the staff on the unfortunate day, that my body doesn't react until 2-3 hours following ingestion of a significant amount of gluten. He continued to blame me for the incident.All he needed to do was to 1. offer a sincere apology, 2.indicate what they are doing differently to eliminate reoccurrence and 3. express some concern that he hoped we would give them another try. He didn't do any one of the above. NO SIR PANCAKE HOUSE, WE WONT BE BACK.

Experienced a great late lunch on Mother's Day 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Fast service, great food and the atmosphere was excellent. Would definitely be going back soon!!
