really cute place, not a ton of seating but we didn't mind waiting. bigger groups is a bit of a problem as we were 6 people and eventually made a 4 person table work. everything was fresh; you can see the line fixing up your sandwich at the open counter. the in-house made chips are really thin and don't really seem seasoned which was okay because you get a really big pile and eventually i think salt would make your... What Bibiana Martino doesn't like about Sherbrook Street Deli:
Don't bother going here unless it's just a drive by and you see people actually eating there. They DO NOT keep to their hours posted! Twice called, drive across the city, and they closed early after I had called and did the 28 minute drive! "It was like way dead maaan" was the only excuse, and not even an apology! Lost an entire families business forever! View all feedback.
Food I shared the Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich and the Corned Beef Sandwich. The Montreal Smoked Meat was incredible, on par with anything I've had in Montreal (maybe a close second to Schwartz's . The Corned Beef was a little bland, especially when comparing it to the Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich. Go with the MSM sandwich and you will not be disappointed. Can't speak to anything else, but why would you go to a deli and not get a deli style sandwich.<br/ <br/ Service solid service for a weekday lunch. Staff was perfectly attentive.<br/ <br/ Decor/ambiance nice contemporary diner. Not necessarily fancy, but has the desirable deli feel (cooking area is visible, bar top seating, etc... <br/ Tip DOUBLE THE MEAT
I came here for the first time at the end of June. Loved it. Visited twice since then and Saturday I had mixed feelings about it. The first time and second time we came here the food was great, the portion size was great, the service was great. When I came back last week and brought my cousin and boyfriend. I was raving about how great it was and they came out a little disappointed. The food was good and so was the service but ordering our meal for take out...I was a little disappointed with the portion size. The other two times we went it was like a huge amount of food and we had leftovers. This time the sandwiches were much smaller, the amount of kettle fries we had was about half the amount from our previous visits and the coleslaw in the take out container with the kettle fries and sandwich made everything kind of soggy. Overall, the food was delicious but the inconsistency with the portion sizes is a bit weird.
Thank goodness for this place! Was craving just a sandwich for lunch, but something tasty and non-Subway-ish. What Sherbrook Street Deli has done I think is the key to any small eatery. Take simple food, and make it really well. I had the chicken salad sandwich and the bread was so soft, the chicken salad was so good and perfectly seasoned, and the side chips were homemade, salty and so crunchy (They were perfect ON the sandwich! , the coleslaw was a classic vinegar coleslaw (boo to creamy coleslaw! ...and the pickle is what I expect from a deli pickle. Everything just completely met my expectations and more. I didn't even require supper I was so full and satisfied the rest of the day. (Maybe because i over ate? lol...who cares, it was so good! <br/ My one small complaint, if you can call it that, was my sandwich just had too much mayo on it. I don't mind a little, but it hardly needed it and resulted in the mayo seeping through the holes of the rye bread and getting all over my fingers and quite messy. Next time I'd likely order without the mayo on the bread. <br/ <br/ Needless to say...this was a total win! I will definitely be back.
Best lox and bagel in the city hands down. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Great soups and sandwiches as well. Friendly service great spot in west Broadway.
Love this place. My husband and I have eaten here twice now and it is quickly becoming our 'go to ' restaurant. They do all of their meat in house and it is incredible! The quality is amazing. I 've done the combo that comes with chips, coleslaw and a huge pickle each time and it goes so well with the huge sandwiches. My husband has gotten the corned beef and I 've tried both the hot beef salami and the pulled beef sandwich. All were incredible and an awesome value. We like how simple yet decadent the meals are. <br/ <br/ The restaurant atmosphere is also great. The décor is nice and suiting for the food, and it 's always clean. The staff is also great each time, even asking what music we want them to play since we were the last ones in there. Good food and good times.
