read moreSalisbury House, known locally as Sal's, is a unique restaurant chain that has been a staple in Winnipeg since 1931. With a menu that boasts nostalgic classics like the legendary Salisbury Steak and the iconic nip, it offers a taste of the city's history. The Garden City location exudes a 1950s roadhouse diner vibe, complete with vintage photos adorning the walls and absurdly low prices – 45¢ for a large nip! While some dishes like the fried Manitoba pickerel burger and house salad fell short in terms of flavor and freshness, the overall experience of dining at Salisbury House is a testament to the city's heritage and culinary traditions. Whether you're a longtime fan or a first-time visitor, the hearty Canadian food, generous portions, and friendly service make it a great spot to bring your family or friends. So, make a statement by visiting this iconic chain and savoring a slice of Winnipeg's culinary history!.
