Came here with family the other day for Dinner. I was absolutely blown away by how great the food was. Everything was hot when it arrived at our table, the ingredients tasted fresh and the flavours of the food were phenomenal. What User doesn't like about Plaza Restaurant:
It is not consistent,,,,sometimes good....sometimes bad. The server mixed our takeouts putting 2 different dishes in a container. One had sauce the other didn`t. Beef fried rice was terrible.....we threw it out. They now have a regular customer at lunch who is constantly blowing his nose with the napkins and throwing it on the plate. The place is 150metres from where I’m staying so there really isn’t any reason why I shouldn’t try the place, it seems to do steady business although primarily Caucasian clientele as the menu does cater to more Western tastes than traditional Chinese, that being said my food was fresh and tasty there does seem to be some mistakes on the menu as what I thought I was ordering was actually completely different than what I received regardless everything was quite palatable and I enjoyed my meal. The menu is very simple but straight forward it’s completely in English although I wish that there was a Chinese English menu so there are no misunderstandings about what people are ordering. The place is very clean and basic no garish decorations or furniture just a simple traditional diner type atmosphere, the place is family owned and operated and everyone participates to get he meals out to you as quickly as possible. Plaza has been my favorite for years, but in the last little while it's become even better (how is that even possible)?! It's been so good that we've ordered twice in the last week! and the new online ordering is so convenient! Wonderful people , great food. Great place to order from very tasty. Try Plaza Restaurant you will like it.
The first time I dined in and was underwhelmed ; the service wasn’t great, portions were small, atmosphere was not nice. Tried them again but for takeout and everything was better! Large portions, and my order was ready for pickup quickly. I think they might prioritize takeout orders? I would order from here again, but for takeout only.
What happened to this place? 2 of 5 entree's were awful. Cannot mistake the taste of using old oil for deep frying the dry pork ribs. The fried meat dumplings were over powered by ginger it was all you could taste. You must have some quality control to run a successful kitchen. Compare for yourself say to TS across from TD on Henderson. Please provide your reviews to assist others.
