Jolly Mug Restaurant - Winnipeg

We took our grandchildren for a burger dinner and waited a long time to get our food. They don't have enough servers. Previously went for breakfast and same thing. Having said that the burgers and the fries were very good. They were also a bit disorganized but we eventually got to eat.

I love the food and the prices are reasonable. It is a community atmosphere. Bev and Louise are exceptional waitresses.

The one bad thing for sure has to be the nasty decor. They try to update it from time to time but you can tell it is never done professionally.I realize it is a very old building but the coats of paint are obvious. At least the washroom has improved.The food is edible.. I can't say there is anything I would go for and I will admit that 9 out of 10 times you require a washroom 30 min after eating there. The girls who work there get over worked but they are very good.

I've been going here for months to get my Rueben fixes. They are delicious!! They do a great job. The other day I added fries to my sandwich, I don't generally care too much for fries so when I ate the first one I was pleasantly surprised! I think it was the best fry I've ever had! They aren't those thin, nothing in the middle McD fries, I think they must have been fresh, not frozen. I typically get take out, but even then the staff are always friendly and quick.

Stopped for a quick lunch, enjoyed the soup very much. Very efficient and pleasant server. All I had was the soup but I looked at some of the other plates being served and they looked delicious. Great place for a quick and economical meal.
