Came here with friends for dinner. Modern decor with comfortable seating and well-spaced tables. We were able to have pleasant conversations without having to yell over music or loud neighbours. The menu is quite large, so there is a lot of variety. The downside is having to makes choices! We had miso soup, poke, poke nachos, gyozas, tempura, green salad, beef carpaccio and chirashi sushi. Each dish was delicious and... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Izakaya Edokko:
The meal started out great. The lobster tempura is unique and delicious, and the sashimi was fresh. Then it went downhill from there. The Volcano Roll was essentially 8 pieces of avocado sushi covered in mayonnaise. If there is seafood in there, then they really did a great job of hiding it. The new style roll was a little bit better in that you can actually see the fish, but they drenched the rice and it was so sogg... View all feedback.
My husband and I have never agreed on Winnipeg's best sushi restaurant...until tonight. I knew as soon as I saw the pearly looking sushi rice that it was perfectly cooked. We ordered through SkipTheDishes about an hour before they closed and everything still tasted super fresh. The Kamikaze roll was to die for (I am super picky about this roll as it's my favourite My friends have all dubbed me a sushi snob and this place surpassed my expectations. The prices were very reasonable and what I'd expect from a higher end sushi restaurant. You get what you pay for and it was well worth it. We will definitely be ordering again...and again :
Went 4 times and never been disappointed! I strongly recommend that restaurant for fresh sushi and awesome staff !!
It was honestly the best tasting sushi I've ever eaten, and the tuna nachos bring life to your taste buds. Everything was absolutely decadent while not being overly filling. Atmosphere of the bar was wonderful as well.
Miso Ramen was bomb dot comb, highly recommend the spicy miso ramen if you like having a slight kick to your soup. Takoyaki was a great hit with me, high recommend also the mackerel sashimi for sashimi lovers! Definitely coming back to try the gyu tataki other items!
This is a great place offering a great assortment of Japanese sushi, sashimi and small plates.
