I was on a hunt for soup dumplings in Winnipeg over the holidays and found this place.

Hai Shang has the best soup dumplings! We love coming here and usually take people from out of town when they come in. The food is always delicious. We usually get soup dumplings, jellyfish, lemon chicken, shrimp with vegetables, and we'll try a new dish too. The shrimp tastes so fresh and juicy. The soup dumplings are very tasty. Everyone who works there is so nice and always remembers us, even though we don't go in that often.

Fantastic soup dumplings! I think they are only available on the weekend but wow. The service was also superb, with an owner coming and speaking to our table about recommendations based on our preferences and cravings. Excellent all around.

One of the best Chinese food restaurants in Winnipeg. Very far down Pembina almost at the perimeter. Parking is free but not a lot of spaces, but street parking closeby. Service always friendly and attentive. Our large takeout order was ready on time and we got an extra pork dish for free because of how much we ordered. Sauces are excellent. Their crispy ginger beef is well prepared but they should use better quality beef, otherwise, dinner was excellent. We would definitely order from there again. OK for eat in, clean and basic, and able to handle large groups.
