I can say that hospitality here is amazing. The owner works very hard to make sure everyone likes their food. Your soup dumplings are the best in town. Family owned, their downfall perhaps the distance at the end of the city, but worth the trip. Their prices are very similar to other Chinese restaurants, but make it in portions and taste. The pineapple shrimp is amazing! Had that and the deep fried spicy salt calamari. Batter could of been fried longer to a more crispy texture), and beef and gai lan. DO NOT GET THE CALAMARI. Funky View all feedback.
Had dinner with a group of friends (4 in total) for dinner and it's pretty good. We were warmly welcomed and very hospitable. One of the owners (I assume that the mother) was so welcoming and was optimistic throughout our entire meal, basically I made myself feel lime at home. Even as far as a bowl with white rice. We ordered Mapo Tofu, Sweet and Sour Pork, Hawaiian Fried Rice, Soup Dumplings, and I believe the barbecue chicken. All meals were tasteful and had no taste. Good portion for what you pay. However, my main withdrawal for every meal is: The Mapo Tofu was not as spicy as we thought (I am not used to being very spicy) soup dumplings, although it had good filling, I wish it had more soup and less meat filling. Sweet and sour pork had still some cripples, even after I had covered with sauce during our dinner, I had not much of the chicken flour we had, but it was not overcooked, still had moisture compared to some places where the chicken was dry. Food and service is at the point, I would personally visit again.
I had the deluxe chow mein (their recommendation for a solo person) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very generously portioned and had a nice mix of chicken, pork, shrimp, squid and vegetables. It kept me eating even after I was full. Service was quick and friendly. If I find myself in the area again, I would definitely order from here again.
I've known the owners for almost 20 years through eating at their previous restaurant. Their food has always been excellent, especially the Shanghai dishes such as soup dumping and sweet-sour soup. They are also very nice people, always with a warm and welcoming smile. We try to visit every time we are in Winnipeg.
We ordered the soup dumplings, the special fish , mapo tofu, and deep fried spare ribs. They were all super good, but I would highly recommend the soup dumplings and special fish ! The restaurant has a very home like feel, and the server was super nice. The server said that if you 're planning on having dumplings you should call ahead (like 20 mins) to them know so that you don 't have to wait too long
Soup dumplings had tasty filling. The eggplant dish was tasty but wish it was spicier. The chili oil is yellow and not spicy. Over all flavors were good. The lady serving us was very kind and attentive.
