One of my favorite restaurants in Winnipeg. Scott is fantastic and Raoul is a pro! Food is always amazing. Highly recommend Fusion!Parking: Can be a little bit of a challenge finding parking on Academy. I got Rockstar parking this time, which was awesome. View all feedback.
What Cortney Corwin doesn't like about Fusion Grill:
First of all, with a name like Fusion Grill, you’d expect something a little more funky. The decor is so outdated! Old tables, old chairs, beige polyester hotel tablecloths, very poor and ugly lighting....you get the message. Now, the food was pretty decent and the...service was excellent.(even thou the waiter was very old fashioned). We had beet salad (very tasty),beef dumpling(too much seasoning but good), chicken... This tiny River Heights eatery with the bright red outside walls exceeded all expectations. Friendly, attentive service, beautifully presented food, combinations of flavours that really played on the tongue, and portions that were just right. Unique to Winnipeg cuisine, Fusion presented their version of perogies, done in truffle oil and walnut cream sauce. Another local delicacy, pickerel cheeks, so delicious and tender, delicately crusted in panko style, with delectable garlic butter sauce, freshly spiced samosas with a wonderful cilantro pesto dip. And those were just the appetizers. More local delectables for the main course included the best bison steak I have ever had, and a wonderfully done arctic char. The finish was a beautifully crafted creme brulee- crunchy torched sugar top, unique play on the creme filling with a delicate Earl Grey flavour. Yes, its pricey, but not pretentious. You will leave satisfied and impressed. Best meal I have had in months.
At first look it was a mid range restaurant but the first contact with the personal reminded us to our best past experiences. The server provided many competent advices. We asked for a bison steak (apparently one of the few places in town for that) but we finally got a much better piece than ordered (yes an upgrade.)! A great experience.
Cute place on Academy, nicely decorated, FABULOUS service, more of an adult menu. Ordered the BLT and requested it without the bread and a side green salad, dressing on salad was delicious. Enjoyable place where they did not push us along, let us enjoy a nice leisurely lunch with the girls.
Fusion Grill supported Riverview Health Centre by donating dinner for four as a silent auction item for our Gala last October. Thanks so much, Scot McTaggart! I took three guests for Fusion's fabulous food, and we had great service from Rawle. The menu is unique in that it focuses so strongly on local ingredients and Canadian wine. Love that! We had four different beginnings, and each was terrific. Two in my party has the evening entree feature of beef short ribs in red wine demi glace, one had the chicken piccata and I had the duck confit, quite a menu rarity in Winnipeg and perfectly prepared. Everyone loved their food. This wasn't my first visit to Fusion Grill, and it won't be my last. But it was special as a result of their support of Riverview. Food with a heart - hard to beat that!
The Fusion Grill is an outstanding restaurant in Winnipeg. The food is outstanding and the staff an owner are exceptional and the chef is tremendous always coming up with new twists and preparing the dishes to perfection. The wine list is another reason we like going as the selection is awesome as well. Definitely would recommend the Fusion Grill for fine dining. Well done Fusion Grill
