I ordered takeout from Corriente's yesterday as I was in that part of town and had heard good things about the restaurant. I ordered the Moroccan empanadas, a vegan pizza, a Los Immortales pizza, and a chocolate souffle. The pizzas are thin crust, which isn't...my favourite crust for a pizza however these were delicious. I will definitely order from them again when I'm downtown. The Moroccan empanadas had a bit of sp... View all feedback.
What Philip Price doesn't like about Correinthes:
A little disappointed. Meal was fine, but a small step down from my previous meal (about a year ago). Still a recommended place for a meal downtown (if you a business visitor downtown) or before the Theatre. Thin crust pizza and many choice of Empenadas. View all feedback.
Corrientes offers a range of pizza choices - some rather peculiar - but most quite enticing. Reflecting its Argentinian roots, many of the selections are meat- centered. The empanadas, a South American staple, also seemed to be a very popular choice. Salads were fresh and generous in size - they could easily be shared.Serving staff were very attentive and hard working throughout the entire evening. An excellent option in the Exchange District.
I've been here a few times and it's never disappointed. The pizza here is fabulous and they offer several different unique combinations. I had the empanada lunch special this last time, and I can't wait to have them again! The restaurant is intimate without feeling crowded, and they have a small patio under the trees. The service has also been great with each visit.
Service, atmosphere and exquisite food, as always!!!!If you want to taste the best pizzas and empanadas style of Argentina this is the place indicated one of my favorites in winnipeg!
We decided to try a restaurant that we had not tried before...and we were not disappointed. We shared several of their empanadas so we could experience as many menu items as possible. The corn empanada and the bacon and prune empanada were our favourite...but the beef, lamb and chicken were also delicious. We also tried three different pizzas. The Portia (mushroom) pizza was topped with several types of mushrooms and was very tasty. The Manitoba pizza, with its fish, bacon and goat cheese was excellent. The orange zest added just the right amount of citrus flavour. Our favourite, the Steve B, was a unique combination of bacon, chicken and, who would have thought it, peanut butter. It was delicious. The crust for each pizza was thin, crispy and very tasty. We ate outside on the patio so did not really take note of the decor. Serve staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We would definitely recommend!
Second time visiting this restaurant. First time we fell in love! Great atmosphere, cozy, familial, wonderful service and delicious food. This second time, food was just as great though we had a bit of a strange experience. As we were finishing up dessert, my wife spit out a piece of plastic (looked like a part of a plastic container top) in the last bite. We told the server, they apologized, took it away and after some time, came back with our bill saying that they took 15% off the dessert. I suppose the 90 cents was a nice gesture but it felt a bit ...cheap? Likely from the restaurant's perspective it was because we ate the whole dessert? Generally, from past experiences, most places would have comped the dessert. Of course we weren't looking to get comped $6 after buying 3 courses and drinks but if it had been, then we wouldn't have thought anything of it. But now, I can't stop telling people about it, if only to ask their opinion on whether they thought it was odd. So far, everyone thinks so.Still, much love for Corrientes and likely to go back for the great empanadas!
