What User doesn't like about Cho Ichi Ramen:
Their ramen were too salty. We ordered Cho Ichi Ramen and Miso Ramen. We also had rice bowls, beef and chicken karaage don (small bowl per serving). I barely ate miso ramen bec it was heavily salted, like I had my salt intake for the entire year in 1bowl! I am only giving 2 stars for the server bec she was polite, and for the rice bowls. I am just disappointed that we spent $67 for food that we were not even satisfie... View all feedback.
Absolutely BEST place in the city for ramen! No one comes close to these masters! Perfect Service. Lovely Atmosphere. Incredible Food.Food: 5/5
Amazing place to eat. I had an amazing experience there. It was my first time eating out at a ramen place (I usually avoid these types of restaurants because they aren't the best place for people with allergies in my experience) HOWEVER I let them know about my allergies (anaphylaxis to peanuts and allergy to sesame) and they let me know this place was peanut free!! There is sesame oil used in some dishes (i.e. the mushrooms in the the spicy garlic ramen) but they made sure to leave it out. The servers and cooks went through the ingredients with me for the broth, all sauces used for what I ordered, and for what my friends ordered if I decided to try theirs! It was amazing, above and beyond service. Will defiantly be going again.Kid-friendliness: Above and beyond service, very welcoming.Parking: parking at the back, lots of space!Dietary restrictions: Peanut free!!
Is all I can say.the restaurant is quite small however they have tastefully transformed it into a beautiful little cove filled with natural wood furnishes, comfortable seating, a breath taking view of bustling Pembina Hwy. upon walking in we were immediately greeted with a server who seated us next to one of the many laaarge windows which let in natural light (perfect for Instagram pictures ? and a view of the highway.menu is simple yet has variety, however I would like to see more options for vegetarian and vegan diners. don't recall if tofu was on the menu but if not please consider it!the food is immaculate. piping hot bowls of rich broth, tender chewy noodles all topped with fresh shredded vegetables and herbs, perfectly texturied to mix into every steaming delicious spoonful. they have a plethora of ingredients offered a la carte to add to your bowl of heaven, egg, spinach, mushrooms, the list goes on. we also ordered spicy shrimp tempura which was delectable.our server checked in on us multiple times throughout our meal, and remembered to refill my water as I always drink a lot of ice water with hot soup dishes.been to this restaurant three times in person, ordered I think twice on skip. in person visits are every time. I feel like it's a spa for my stomach. however when I order delivery the broth has arrived a little cold. not sure why exactly.either way I ABSOLUTELY recommend this restaurant. best ramen in South end. only because I never venture out into any other end lmao but could very possibly be the best ramen in the city.someone call Gordon Ramsay
I have been to Cho Ichi Ramen twice as of when I write this. Each time, the Ramen was flavourful and tasty. I will go back again when I am in the neighbourhood. The staff are great. They are friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They checked in regularly and made sure we had everything we wanted.
In the long winter days of Winnipeg you need something to warm you from inside and not just outside, of course theres alcohol but other than alcohol, soups and a rich broth-y soup with well right texture boiled noodles and well cooked meats. It feels like a long overdue hug that lingers for a while with you.It was long overdue for me to have a good rich and nice ramen and the Cho Ichi group(wasabi, cho ichi ramen, chosabi) although a bit expensive it is totally worth the whole experience. To top it all I had a good field day at Thermea just before going here and needed all the salt, broth, cream, protien and veggies.Ramen is a perfect example of Japanese cooking of Sa Shi Su Se So(sugar, salt, soy vinegar, miso). The slow mellow feeling of warm broth flowing down your throat to your stomach and feeling the taste of soy, miso, meat, fish sauce and adding some chili oil with it and then slurping the chewy noodles that offer the right stoppage in between slurping hot soup and enjoying the after taste of the soup.We opted for the Pork broth soup with lobster(set up like those in anime) and spicy garlic miso soup with sous vide chicken that had quite a kick to it. We also had a karage chicken Bao along with Takoyaki and both were really tasty. Will most definitely get back to eat just their karage chicken it was super tasty and a must try of the sides.Their space is super warm, and relaxed over all and the wait staff does a fantastic job in explaining and getting your order. Although they seem to have a lot of orders amongst limited staff they seem to do a great job and hope they get tip money as they deserve it.Most definitely should go there.
