I've been to Asoyama many times and will tell you they have great Sushi, as good as all of the neighbouring Sushi places. They also have some other great dishes. Their beef bulgogi (pictured) is amazing and for an great price. Close by you can...go to the Wok Box and pay far more for an inferior bulgogi. The service at Asoyama is about average I would say. No complaints but also nothing exceptional. View all feedback.
What Florence McDermott doesn't like about Asoyama Sushi:
I just went to this restaurant with my cousin and my Auntie. Looking at the menu and it seemed pricey. C $12-$13 for rolls. Even if they were specialty rolls I found it too much. I didn't find the amount of food plentiful. Also I wasn't as full as I would be at any other sushi place. That was due to the cost The service was good but for the cost for three people and only one sake I found it to be over priced. I did e... View all feedback.
A must try if you ever in the south end area of the city. Great quality sushi and good presentation. We had Sparkling roll, Volcano, Golden dragon and white tuna they were really delicious...
Stopped by on a quiet Sunday. Seated immediately. Server was very attentive, but not a pest. Drinks came up quick and cold. They have a very large selection of Japanese food. The Sashimi was amazing, the odd R2D2 sushi we tried just for the name was amazing. This is not a cheap all you can eat sushi place but a real quality sit down restaurant. Never felt rushed, took our time, appreciated the prices which are fair for the quality. Definitely recommend !
My favourite place to go for sushi in Winnipeg. It is on the more expensive side but it is so worth it and the service is always great. Atmosphere is awesome and they have a great patio overlooking a man-made pond in the summer. Highly recommend to all my friends and family!
Went here for meal New Years Eve before going out.Had a reall terrific waiter, just friendly and attentive enough.Drink prices were actually really good.Tried the miso soup and 6 rolls. All were good but to me the 2 standouts were the new special Dancing Eel roll and the softshell crab(spider roll). We booked a sunken table and maybe a little difficult to get in and out if your not the most flexible but this way you get a private room thats much quieter. In these rooms gratuity of 15 % is automatically added.Service was so good we added an extra 7%.Overall a really good dining experience.
They have great variety of sushi. The quality is always great. The place is nice and cozy, very good for dates or simply get together with friends and family. Friendly staff, and easy access (tons of parking!). They are one of the few restaurants in Winnipeg which are open until late on Fridays and Saturday (until 1am!). It is not super cheap, but the prices are quite fair considering the quality. Nothing outrageous!
