A&W - Winkler

Picked up a Uncle Burger through drivethru was very poor meat not cooked completed and cold, tasted like patty was sitting there all day. Would never order this again from Winkler A&W one of the worst burgers I've had. :

I only go thru the drive thru and order the same, Teen Burger with Onion Rings. I find tho, if you don't have a coupon, the meal for two gets but, nothing beats the Teen Burger with Onion Rings

I would generally not make the effort to write a review for a place like A&W but after our experience last night I felt I should. We are a retired couple traveling from Vancouver Island to visit family in Ottawa and arrived late to our...hotel and even later to the A&W across the parking lot. As we walked in we were greeted by a young woman behind the counter with a gorgeous smile and a pleasant welcome As we were studying the board a young man walked out to check the condiment counter and again a big smile and good evening We ordered and sat at a table where I could see the order counter and to each customer was flashed a welcoming smile and greeting. Later as we sat eating I commented to my wife that staff must be hired on the strength of their smiles and believability of their greetings. It was a nice experience.

I've been to many A&W restaurants and this one is way above average for a fast food chain. Food was great. Portions were large. I like how they take your name to call out when order is ready. Wait time to take your order depends...on the line, but I never spend more than minutes here. Never! That's impressive! The service is excellent. The bathroom is clean. Restaurant is a bit small but clean. Peak hours can be a tight fit inside. I will keep going back. Again.. again.. again... And YES, it is easy to screw up a fast food chain. It's A W ....same most everywhere! Food is as expected....service is fine. But as has been mentioned before they could keep up with the washrooms a little more. .....attention to detail here could go a long way!
