What Anwar Alrayyes doesn't like about Sweet Revenge Bake Shop:
Ordered a birthday cake and macarons through the website. It seemed to me that the macarons were made 3-5 days ago. Hard, tasted so bad. Not fresh for sure.I also called three days prior to change the order date, they told me they can’t because the process started!!! This doesn’t make any since if you will bake a fresh cake. So far I’ve only had one cake from here and my review at this point is, Very good quality cake, delicious batter and icing. The only issue I have is how sweet the icing is. It tastes like 95% sugar and 5% water. It didnt really taste like “butter cream”. I’ve made other icing recipes that had more well rounded fuller flavour than this icing. It’s so sweet that it drowns out any other flavours and I can’t finish a whole slice and I don’t usually have too big of an issue with sugar. I’ve been to other bakeries where the sugar amount is lower and it’s better because you can taste the other flavours, like butter and vanilla or cream cheese. But also when there is less sugar, I can eat a whole slice! And maybe more ! I hate slicing a cake and not being able to eat the whole thing. I literally have dreams about gorging on cake, it’s my favourite thing in the world so that’s a huge let down for me. I don’t know if we can adjust how much sugar we want like how we usually can with bubble tea?? But that would be a great idea for this place.
Sweet Revenge Bake Shop made us an amazing wedding cake that I'm still dreaming about. They were so responsive and helped us create a cake that truly captured the vintage vibe we were going for. Our wedding cake looked incredible and tasted amazing. I would highly recommend them!
I made a post on Instagram asking for a good cake person, lots of recommendations pointed to sweet revenge. I’m glad I went with her! Great communication, AMAZING job with how it looked, tasted just as good as it looked. May have to order a Totoro cake every year for my birthday lol
They went above and beyond for a last minute request! Cake was beautiful and delicious! Highly recommend!
I hate to write a bad review but I ordered the cookie dough cake for a birthday celebration and I was very disappointed. No flavour, dry and honestly just a bad cake. For the price I expected a lot better.
