This lovely restaurant offers a beautiful view of Canada. It is located in a building next to the Marriott and provides a very enjoyable view of the country. I stopped by for a quick lunch. View all feedback.
What Alexis Paucek doesn't like about Park Terrace Restaurant:
Service was very freindly. My wife who complains about restaurant food all the time loved her seafood linguini however my stuffed chicken wasn't great. The restaurant could use some updating but was very clean except for the windows. Price was a little steep but that is what I expected for riverfront seating. I am looking forward to next time when I try their sunday brunch. View all feedback.
February 24, 2013Four of us decided to try the Sunday brunch at the Park Terrace. We were concerned from reading the prior reviews below but hoped that it they too would have read the reviews and made some changes. To our surprise and delight, it was a great experience! We had been there for brunch over a year ago and I would say that it was not all the best back then......but acceptable. Since our last visit,in the past year, the restaurant has changed the seating arrangement, opened up the access to the windows (which by the way were very clean with an enjoyable view of the Windsor riverside)and for the Sunday brunch, set up a wonderful number of food stations, all exquisite! There was a soup and salad table/station along the big picture windows with crab salad, mussels on the shell, roasted Italian vegetables in an olive oil and balsamic glaze and much more. Those three were a favorite with a lot of return visits to that table. There was a hot table with serving stainless covered steamers serving everything from salmon with dill sauce, the BEST scalloped potatoes, steamed fresh vegetables, pasta and veal cutlets. A total array of your standard breakfast entrees including all the meats, eggs, potatoes and waffles We inquired as to whether they would make Eggs Benedict for us. They willingly accepted and I must say, all four of us confirmed that they were the very best Eggs Benedict we have ever had. They had a carving station with a round of beef and all the extras-Au jus and fresh horseradish! The chef also made you an omelet to order wit great care at the omelet table.Another table housed the fresh fruits and cuts variety of cheeses. Another table was set up with all your cheese cakes, pies, brownies and sweets.Fresh squeezed juices. It was extremely busy today, but I believe the service was very good. Refills of the coffee carafes on the table and freshened water glasses. We will definitely return for the service , great food and great view. The brunch was $23.00/person and well worth the price.,

We wanted to do something great for my dad's 65th birthday and we thought this would be nice, a beautiful restaurant overlooking the river the prices of dishes are more expensive than the keg so we thought we were in for a high class treat. The pictures on-line show a beautiful room, with crisp linen and a great look and feel of the room. HOWEVER the restaurant we actually arrived to was a dump, there were massive, and I mean massive stains all over the windows, from the top to the bottom they were full of dust, dirt, and streaks. The carpet was horribly stained, and the tables were disgusting. Half weren't even put together, and the other ones look like something out of a restaurant from 1950, just dusty, dingy and gross. The feel of the restaurant did NOT appeal to us. We had made a reservation for 7pm, and when we arrived at the restaurant, there was no one to be seen. No staff, no customers, NO one, we actually thought the restaurant was closed. We couldn't find anyone AT ALL. I actually had to embarrassingly leave my parents and their friends and wander the restaurant looking for ANYONE that worked there. I found no one. Finally when my search for staff turned up no one we decided to leave this disgusting, dirty HORRIBLE excuse for a restaurant. A door opened to another section I assume of the restaurant and I saw staff and they saw us standing at the door, 3 different staff looked at us and then stayed in the other room. We waited 15 minutes after they saw us and no one came. Finally as we turned to leave someone came out of another room and walked up and said "uh, hi"? like they were shocked we were at the restaurant, I promptly told them how we waited over 15 minutes and I wandered the restaurant looking for staff and we were leaving and are extremely upset by the false advertising on-line and HORRIBLE service we had before we even sat down. To which we were told, ok. We left at this point. We didn't actually eat any food, thank god we didn't if the bad service we received before we were even seated was any indication of what a horribly run, poor excuse for a restaurant the park terrace is we are lucky we didn't suffer through the $"32 entrées".DON'T go here, at all, ever. Please go anywhere else in Windsor, you'd get better service at McDonalds down the road. But see for yourself the second you walk into the restaurant and see it empty and get the GREAT customer service you'll receive, your choice to run away will be an easy and quick one.
I took my aunt and uncle out for their wedding anniversary, and exepcted a higher level of service, which never transpired. If you're staying in the hotel and are desperate for someplace to eat, go to McDonald's instead. The service was bottom level, we waited for 20 minutes to have the waiter show up. He was a matrue waiter, and we expected a service level to accompany this experience, not the case. He messed up our drink orders, right from the start. I had a large fly in my Champagne Cocktail, my aunt's second drink had another fly in it, and wasn't even the correct drink. My husband ordered the Steak and requested that it be medium, it arrived over cooked on the verge of well done. We listened to a wedding in the next reception room, and repeatedly had to ask them to close the doors so we could hear our dinner conversation. Our bill was $246 for 4 people with 1 drink (the previous drinks were removed) and 4 beers, this was way over priced for the quality of food and service we received.Stay away.
I went to this restaurant two years ago for an upscale dinner with friends. The service and food quality were sub par at that time. Being that two years had passed, we decided to give them another try. The breakfast buffet is VERY overpriced. The eggs were awful, many items ran out and were not replenished at any point during our time there. The service was below poor. She got us coffee but never refilled it. I wanted to order a water but she never came back to get additional drinks. We waved her down for our checks, then waited over 20 minutes, then found a manager to request the checks again. The server was rude when she brought them. Other tables around us were experiencing the same thing. One couple was snapped at. I was horrified. This is supposed to be a nice restaurant, and we would have gotten better service at a fast food joint. Don't waste your time for any meal. There are other places to get breakfast nearby. I highly recommend dinner at the Keg or the Pitt for Pasta for dinner. They are both very nice, as well as have high quality service and food.
