I have eaten lunch here twice and had a good experience the first time ( a busy Friday) and a very good experience on my last Sunday visit. The quality of the food is excellent with good variety; but when it is busy the trays do not get refilled fast enough and I will admit the chef served food is not as good as the tray foods. Room must be left for deserts as they are also of high quality.
This is the second time we have visited Garden buffet on a Saturday at dinner time 6pm.Although "Prime Rib" is advertised on the light up bill board as part of the weekend menu, there was none to be found. My husband asked why not and they claimed they had just run out and more would be ready in approx 25mins. About 40 minutes later a small piece showed up at the kitchen window. The "chef" sliced each piece and then fried it on the grill.....he was obviously trying to warm it up! We could not chew through it. Just a rip off
On the website for Garden Buffet under "promotions" I had read that you can done for free for your birthday as long as at least one purchase of an adult buffet was purchased. Since my daughter really enjoyed going there on all our previous visits I thought it would be great. Unfortunately she was unable to go on Aug 3/17. She called last night just to make sure they would still honor their promotion. She was told no. It had to be on the exact day. Then the women asked how many people would have been attending, as if she was reconsidering her answer. My daughter told her it would be her mom and herself. It immediately went back to no when she learned it would only be one paying customer.I am totally blown away by the way the restaurant would not honor their own promotion within a 24hr time period. I did hear this place has new owners and from reading other reviews it really has gone downhill. I know they lost 2 patrons with us and once I spread the word many more to come.
We were excited about going to the Garden Buffet for supper. We made a reservation as we had a group of 10. We had also seen online that children under 12 ate for free and had coupons stating that. All that was required was that they needed to be paired with an adult meal. No problem we had 7 adults and 3 children. Immediately upon being seated we were told that only one child would qualify. That ad far as I am concerned is false advertising and the company should not have them anymore. The food was sub-par and seemed like it was prepared hours before. The washrooms seemed like they had been cleaned the week before. And finally the staff did not even bring us bill and argued about who had paid and who did not. I would definitely never return to this buffet again.
The wait staff very good got us seated and are drinks within 10 min. and the place was quite busy. They had a very good selection of Chinese food and sushi.
