I constantly find myself craving food from Bread Meats Bread. A large menu isn't needed when everything is so delicious, fresh, and expertly made. I can't recommend it highly enough! My personal favorite is the Dragon Lady sandwich with a side of gnocchi! View all feedback.

This place has food figured out. This is the next generation of passion meets food meets good business model. Bread Meats Bread offers much better than standard lunch fare typically found in restos downtown. Try the French Onion with lovely braised beef and cheese on a bun with a side of gnocchi! The Pop Shop of my youth makes an appearance as well does a Beastie Boys soundtrack on the day I arrive. Super cheap in my opinion considering the quality. good on ya

Visited for lunch with my mom after reading a story in the Windsor Star about the resurgence of Chatham Street. I think it takes courage to open up shop downtown amongst the countless eyesores. I really do hope this is the start of a trend as the downtown core/waterfront has so much unrealized potential. What's with all the run-down, vacant shops across the street? Who owns these places? Anyway, it was great to see the restaurant packed on a Monday at lunch time. I had the French Onion with a side of gnocchi. Both were excellent, but the gnocchi was quite possibly the best I've had. If you're coming during prime time, expect a bit of a wait for your food (about 20 mins was my experience). This is not a fast food joint. There is an emphasis on quality and creativity over quantity. There is a rotating menu. Friendly staff and a chef/owner who is clearly passionate about his trade and business. Cool environment and nice patio. This is the kind of place that would find success in Detroit or Toronto. I think foodies will dig it. Will be back and look forward to also checking out some of the neighbours.

The Italian Job. Need I say more? This was my first visit to this quirky little spot downtown. The decor features subway tiles, exposed brick, raw metal, and bamboo countertops, giving it a really appealing vibe. I was hoping the sandwich would live up to the ambiance, and I can honestly say I was not disappointed. The bread was perfectly toasted and crispy, the meat was flavorful and juicy, and the crunchy crackling added the perfect touch. And that lemon gremolata? Wow! It was actually pork, but you get the idea. It was absolute perfection in sandwich form. You can count on me to be a returning customer!

What a gem!! Finally was in the neighbourhood to indulge, thought to grab a couple sandwiches and salad. Ended up trying a new local beer from Sandwich Brewery and picked at, then devoured our seafood salad. Fantastic cookery of calamari and cuddle fish, with tomatoe vinaigrette and puree of chickpea. Seafood was so genuinely tender and delightful, we broke into our take out sandwiches and made a big dent in our intended future snack. Mad props to the owner and his commitment to a minimalist menu, our sandwiches were refreshingly satisfying and flavourful. Much love, eat here!!
