Ad's Pizza - Windsor Locks
Ad's Pizza
Description
A longtime Hartford-area pizzeria delivers standout pies, wings and comforting Italian fare that keep regulars coming back, excelling as a casual takeout or dine‑in spot. Experiences vary widely: some praise fast, friendly service and perfect dough, while others report bland or greasy dishes, mismatched in‑person pricing and long waits due to understaffing and phone troubles. Worth trying for a reliable favorite—but test a single order before booking large party trays.

Wanted to try out the pizza before ordering a couple party sizes for an upcoming party. Called 10 times before I could get through then was told 40 minutes in my pizza drove there the place was empty and there was one woman working phones register and the ovens so the. I understood why the wait was so long and why I couldn’t get through because she was on the phone. I was told the pizza was amazing but I’m glad I tried it first before making a party order because it was extremely bland the sauce didn’t have much flavor. ALSO was upset because the prices online don’t match the in person prices to I ended up paying much more than expected when I got there. I recommend updating prices online so it’s fair for all to know what they are actually paying!
Best place in town for a pie hands down. Anyone says otherwise, they think Digiorno is good. Local OG gem in town that offers good pizza and Italian cuisine. It is a full restaurant with a bar, mostly take out though.
This is by far the worst pizza I’ve ever had!!! Any frozen pizza is tastier and better quality. Also, they are using bots or writing fake reviews by family and friends hence all those fake 5 star reviews! Trust me, they’re not 4 star quality! I live nearby and the parking is always empty even on weekend nights when any good restaurant should be packed! You have all been warned!
This place has great pizza! We typically get sausage and mushroom take-out. Fresh ingredients, great sauce, cooked perfectly. Not greasy at all. You can watch pizza being made from the counter. They must make a lot of pizzas, judging by the huge bowls of sauce, mushrooms and sausage on the kitchen counter. This pizza is old-school with tasty crust, just the way we like it. If you want thin crust, this is not for you. Family business, owned and operated by friendly local generations. We love this place!
Food was practically unelible he stated he's been in business 40 years. If this is his best I'd hate to see his worst. Grease pouring out of every part of the food. However his 1 and only waiter was fantastic. She was quick and responsive. So I left her with a nice tip but the owner asked me not to pay and never return. My response being never in my lifetime. Worse experience and restaurant I've ever been to. If I could give a 0 score I would
