Contribute FeedbackStubbings Nursery and Cafe offers a unique dining experience within a vibrant garden center, featuring a friendly staff and quick service. While patrons commend the excellent quality of food and diverse vegetarian options, some have raised concerns about the recent decline in attention to detail, particularly with certain dishes lacking flavor and presentation. The dining journey can be frustrating due to an awkward exit route, especially for families or those with mobility issues. Despite these challenges, the inviting atmosphere and locally sourced ingredients continue to attract loyal customers seeking a wholesome meal in a lovely setting.
I used to be a regular at this restaurant, going every few weeks for breakfast after dropping off my kids at school. However, I won't be going back anymore. The staff are friendly, the service is quick, and the food is really good. But the process of leaving is incredibly frustrating. You are now required to walk through a large poly tunnel FOUR TIMES, passing by everything they sell, before you can exit. This is especially difficult for those with children or anyone who has difficulty walking, or simply wanted to visit the café. It seems like the owners of the garden center are more concerned with making a profit than providing a good customer experience. I can't imagine how many laps the staff have to do as well. On the bright side, it's a great option if you're interested in a café and a garden center combined.
During our stay in Maidenhead before attending a wedding the following day, we were in search of a place to eat as the options at our hotel were unimpressive. After browsing online, we stumbled upon Stubbings Nursery and Cafe. We were pleasantly surprised by their small but excellent menu. The food we ordered was of excellent quality, very tasty, and reasonably priced. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.
Very good food we had the vegetarian breakfast which was very tasty and filling. Indoor and outdoor seating for the cafe with ample room. Outdoor (undercover part) only wheelchair accessible by going through the indoor seating area. Car park is a bit awkward to use but shouldn’t be a showstopper. Will definitely come again.
Stopped for a quick and delicious lunch here, just a few mins off the M4 with plenty of parking. Generous sandwiches served with salad and crisps, and a tasty full English breakfast. We particularly enjoyed the herby tomatoes and mushrooms. Didn't stop for cakes but they looked delicious too.
We had a lovely full English and veggie breakfast. Staff were nice too. We then had a wonder round the garden centre with has lots of plants and home wear to look at. Nice unique food gifts and local produce. Especially impressed with the selection of cabins he had.
