While some patrons praise the generous portions and delicious flavors, others express disappointment over greasy fish and soggy batter, prompting them to reconsider their menu choices. Despite excellent service, inconsistencies in food quality have led some customers to explore other options. Conversely, those who enjoyed their meals commended the quick service and warm packaging. Ultimately, Scotts Fish and Chips showcases both the highs and lows of the traditional eatery, leaving diners debating the future of their fish and chip cravings.
This is a fantastic fish and chip shop. The large portion of cod was a bit pricey, but definitely worth it as it was absolutely massive. The cod, chips, and mushy peas were all delicious. The staff were friendly and there were no complaints at all.
With Good Friday coming up, I thought I would do some food tasting because we will be having a small garden dinner gathering so fish chips needs to be on point. Well I tried Scotts and I have to say all that hype was a disappointment! Fish was very greasy, didn’t smell very nice either, rather unusual off smell! Chips were dry and looked as if they were sitting around for a while! Still making my stomach turn! This has put me off fish chips, I think I will have to re think the dinner menu for my guest on Friday. So disappointed!!
Fantastic fish n chips Can’t beat it in windsor Order always correct Great food Friday night best takeaway
We have eaten fish and chips from Scotts before and it has always been good, but tonight was a disappointment. The plaice I ordered was covered in soggy, undercooked batter, not very large, and had lots of black skin (which I do not like). The chips were mushy and the curry sauce seemed watered down. Despite requesting no salt and vinegar, my portion of chips had both. My partner was also unhappy with their large haddock, claiming it tasted old. We will be trying a different restaurant next time - this was an expensive mistake.
We are working a Bray studios and have tried most of the chip shops but Scotts is by far the tastiest one about Proper fish and chips as it should be keep it up
