we bought the deal from groupon and then read the reviews! we were very pleasantly surprised, the service and eating were 5.* yes we paid more the day, but we had drinks and extras, why would they not expect to pay more. the environment and the decor were great and the staff was friendly and attentive. we will definitely go back. What Meeta channel doesn't like about Saffron:
Delightful cosy restaurant. Service was excellent. Table layout is decent giving plenty space. More Persian than Indian in taste. Unfortunately can't give higher rating for the food as every dish had plenty of sugar in including the naan and Raith yogurt). The Bombay Aloo was not authentic and lacked taste due to the huge chunks of potatoes rather than smaller grilled pieces. The Daal also lacked taste. The tandoori... View all feedback.
Poor quality of food, not enough chicken, prawns were microscope, we will never order them again
The food at this restaurant was top-notch, with a welcoming and attentive staff. The curry they suggested was exceptional, with a focus on precision and detail.
This is not a authentic Indian restaurant. The food was terrible, service was okay, and the owner was rude to the only customers that evening (my family and me). Don't waste your time and money. They are struggling and are offering 50% off voucher codes online to make up for their high prices. The food had small portions and was bland, lacking spices and flavor typical of Indian cuisine. The curry dishes seemed reheated and not fresh. The grilled food was fresh but did not meet expectations. The owner charged nearly £20 for a mixed grill that included 1 piece of chicken, 1 kebab stick, 1 small prawn, and 4 small chicken pieces. Most Indian restaurants charge £20-£25 for a similar dish with more generous portions. The main dishes were overly sweet, as if sugar had been added to the curry. The restaurant was empty, with only four people including us, and the waiters kept coming to our table every few minutes to take orders. Starters took nearly 45 minutes to arrive, while mains came out in just 5 minutes. The house white wine was old and undrinkable, so we had to ask for it to be replaced. As the only customers that night, we expected the owner to be more polite, but he was rude. He spent most of the evening smoking in the doorway and did not engage with customers in a professional manner.
I recently had the best Indian food I've had in a while at this restaurant. The Shatkora with king prawn dish was delicious, with a perfect balance of heat and citrus flavors. The naan bread was fantastic, perfectly puffed up and freshly made with great taste. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant!
Great place, amazing food, good atmosphere, recommend
