We came here as a large group for a special occasion and found the food to be delicious. We had a selection of gyozas, sushi rolls and bento boxes. The okonomyaki was ok and my least favourite in the selection of foods that was ordered. Even the kids enjoyed the food and normally they are not that adventurous. Would definitely come back again. What Denis Pons doesn't like about Matsuri:
Food was truely awful, everything was tasteless, and not fresh.Having just returned from Japan, I'm amazed this establishment calls itself a Japanese restaurant. The service was rude and slow, they forgot half the order and then tried to charge us. Something very amiss here. Don't waste your time or money. View all feedback.
Matsuri has been here for years and as a local I guiltily popped in for dinner as I been disloyal not having been previously. Fabulous is an understatement. The crew were as wonderful as you would find anywhere and we devoured the freshest dumplings, sushi and udon. I so recommend.

Food was just bland - terribly disappointed. Over priced for the quality. We had the beef stir fry

We went as a party of 9 including children and enjoyed our meals, although the miso soup was a bit saltier than I remembered from my previous experience here. The udon noodle soup was a little disappointing when it came out - there was only a couple of bits of vegetables in the soup itself and the tempura prawn was only about a third of the size compared to other restaurants. However, the stir fried udon noodles with chicken was quite tasty, as was the yakinku beef, the tofu, vegetarian spring rolls teriyaki chicken sushi and beef sushi. The sashimi was also quite fresh. The service from our waitress was also very good, considering the size of our group. The only thing that was missed was an entrée of sushi which came out after the mains which was a bot disappointing for the person who ordered it.
