Go to Super Sonoman, you have to be ready to be fully committed. This is not your typical estate or tasting room experience! Weinbauer Chris Taddei takes you on a passionate journey through his winemaking in his warehouse production. We had the pleasure of being active participants as fruits have arrived in the plant, with Chris taking us through winemaking from the beginning to the end by tasting wines in different stages of fermentation. Now to the wine itself! Excellent! Great! Zinfandel, Cabernet, Barbera and the best Chardonnay I've ever had in my life. All wines are large, bold and complex. This is not a college student who recited memo notes, that is the winemaker himself guides you on a journey that leads to fantastic wines. We spent a few hours learning with Chris and his wife Dana about winemaking and tasting all the way. That was a fantastic experience I am so grateful to Chris for me.
A truly unforgettable experience at Super Sonoman. Chris Taddei is a passionate winemaker who brings the guests to his position fully into his passion. This is not a chic property or refined tasty room. Super Sonoman is where winemaking actually happens. From raw fruit to excellent wine, Chris and his wife Dana will show you the winemaking process. My wife and I were happy enough to actually participate! The wines that make Chris are big and bold full of lush and complex taste. Barbera, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cab- Franc, Pinot Noir all outstanding. I was thrown down by the best Chardonnay I've ever tasted. If you are looking for an experience and a good wine, Super Sonoman will deliver
Awesome team here, family owned 20 year winery. Incredible reds and memorable whites!
I attended an event at Super Sonoman and was impressed with not only the quality of the products but the chic industrial vibe of the location (there are literally implements on the wall that make me think of a workshop). Additionally, you can get your shuffleboard on at Super Sonoman. All the more reason to hang out!
Going in here I had no idea what to expect, the website talks about how Craig, the winemaker owner sought out higher elevation fruit to produce world class Cabernet's on the Sonoma side of the mountain quite close to Russian River which is infamous for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In my opinion he's on his way. I felt fortunate to be amongst some sharp quality people that were there to have fun and socialize while still being present to learn something new from a smart winemaker about his well crafted wines. The wines were balanced, well structured, and had a good equality of ph to acidity. We tasted some wines that were 8 10 years old and still have strong mid palate tannins in them to last at least another decade. I would open them up and let them breathe an hour or so of course, taste them on the way to experience how alive and how much they evolve over time. There was a nice spread of food good thing because the half of an orange I ate wasn't going to help me drive afterwards. Kevin, was fun and outgoing and more importantly, relaxed, seemed at the top of his game as usual. Tom R, the photographer, as professional, appropriate, and delightful as usual also. The Dynamic Duo I would want to put together any event these guys do it and enjoy it which helps all of us to be at ease and have a good time going to the venue. My favs The Chard walking in was a great way to start, I liked both Pinot Noirs, different styles, a touch extracted as Chris said himself and they were good that way. When I hear extracted I think of over extracted inexpensive Australian wines that leave you dry and unquenched. These were just the right amount grasping the fruit and nuances and pushing it towards the forefront. The Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was bordering on the best wine for me lovely notes of ripe bing cherry, a touch of cassis, bittersweet chocolate (if you've actually read this far please know that dry red wine and chocolate don't go together) The chemistry of the chocolate ruins the wine have to go sweet aka Port Later Harvest since Valentine's day is coming mind as well mention that. All in All a truly Delightful day with great people!!Try his Syrah named Geometry, it was excellent!
