What Ellen Potts doesn't like about Kee's At The Winkfield:
Five of us ordered chicken with cashew nuts. We were then told that they didnt have any cashew nuts. We just stuck with the chicken although we were asked if we wanted to change. Waitress late in asking if we wanted any drinks. Coffee machine wasnt working so made it with kettle of water. Virtually cold. Ordered 4 coffees and got 3. Had to ask where the 4th was. On getting the bill no,amends were made regarding the l... View all feedback.
We had left it very late to book a restaurant on a Saturday night, and Kee's managed to squeeze us in. We had never been, or heard of it before and were very pleasantly surprised. The service was fantastic but above all, it was one of the best Chinese meals I've had in a long time. We had the mixed platter to start and a Thai green curry, chicken with cashew nuts and sweet and sour pork belly balls. The flavours were absolutely wonderful and the birthday girl had a great time. Thank you- and see you soon!
Utterly atrocious, from the dreadful meal to the pre-pubescent rot that was pouring out of the loudspeakers. Worse than any amateur Chinese cooking I've ever come across, you'd do better with a cook in sauce and packet of stir fry veg out of Tesco. Indeed that's probably what was served up .. done badly. Also BEWARE most of the reviews of this place (certainly most of the positive ones) are fake, done from US addresses. Google needs to get a grip of this sort of fraud..
When the bill arrived, there was no mention of the missing cashew nuts, nor did we receive any complimentary drink. As a result, we didn't leave a tip, which is something we typically do. I've eaten here before and found the food to be good, but I'm not sure what has changed. I won't be returning. To top it all off, the credit card machine was also out of order.
Also known as Kee's at the Winkfield, this restaurant consistently delivers excellent Asian cuisine. I especially enjoy the Har Gau dumpling appetizer, the crispy aromatic duck, and the sizzling 'not beef' with Peking sauce. As sides, the broccoli with chili and ginger, along with noodles and bean sprouts, are fantastic. The food is always delicious, the service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable.
The food was superb, with incredible flavors in every dish. The staff were lovely and very welcoming, making us feel at home without rushing us at all. We were even introduced to the chef! It’s a wonderful restaurant, and I will definitely return.
