While some diners rave about the exceptional food, including highlights like mussel soup and wild cod, others find the service lacking and the atmosphere dull, especially during quieter times. Afternoon tea has drawn criticism for its portion sizes and quality, leaving some feeling underwhelmed. Though staff friendliness shines, a noticeable lack of training and attention to detail has left many guests questioning their return. Overall, the establishment's potential remains overshadowed by inconsistent service and disappointing experiences.
What an absolutely wonderful time we had in saturday afternoon for our special occasion of my husband and his twins 60th birthdays and our daughters 18th birthday. Food was fabulous and the staff were amazing. Highly recommended.
We had booked in advance and were lunching with friends over from the US. We were hoping for a meal, but the choice on the menu was sandwiches or Burgers. We opted for sandwiches; waited a long time for the food, when it turned up, the presentation was poor, the bread looked like it was the end of a loaf, tiny bit of salad and crisps. We had a desert which was better quality. Waiter very pleasant; however, will not book again.
The nice table at the window was appreciated. We could enjoy the delicious food and watch the thunderstorm ????
Alka and Angelika and the rest of the team looked after us very well. Nothing was any trouble and they were friendly and attentive. The food was most enjoyable and plentiful and one of our party’s special dietary requirements well catered for. Would recommend Caley’s for a good quality value for money afternoon tea.
The waiting staff were very pleasant however there was a new lady (2nd day) and she was very nice however a bit to overboard and we found the service a little over powering. we were the only people in for afternoon tea, it would of been nicer if there would of been more customers in the restaurant, although that is no fault of the hotel. There wasn't any music playing of what we could hear to add to the ambiance. Also for paying £30.00 and having 1 round of sandwiches for two people was a little disappointing along with the bought in cakes (Brakes). I think i was expecting something a little more.
