The portions are generous and the food is decent, although not exceptional. Prices are reasonable. Overall, it's a solid choice for a casual meal, but not a must-visit destination.

The waitress missed out taking an order from one of the party and we had to tell her (we were only a party of 7). We had to ask for sauces with our meal, they were not offered. We specifically mentioned there were 2 birthdays on the table but they only recognised one when bringing out our desserts. Will definitely go back but will leave it 3 months or so.

The staff were ni... read more Hi, I feel as though I'm being harsh here because we thoroughly enjoyed our time with our friends, but the whole experience was disappointing. The staff were nice, but when they asked if our food was ok and we gave them a list of issues, no-one came back with any feedback from the kitchen or anywhere else. The food was poor. Barely warm and clearly had been cooked and left to stand in warmers for some time. The staff, although friendly leaned over one or other of us to put plates down when there was access all round the table and we had a bunch of young parents with a number of children so the noise level was much higher than we might have expected. I appreciate you cannot do anything about the manners of your guests, but the rest should have been better. We will not be returning which is a pity as The Windmill sits midway between us and our friends, so would have been an ideal location. I post very few negative reviews as we eat out all the time and generally I find something positive to say. I struggled this time and won't be recommending The Windmill I'm afraid.
