Reviews - Amato's
Reviews summary
Amato's Restaurant delivers a blend of culinary highs and lows, leaving patrons with varied impressions. While some rave about the fresh Lobster Roll and attentive service, others express disappointment, particularly with the bread quality and incorrect sandwich orders. Instances of poor customer service marred the dining experience for some, yet heartwarming moments of employee compassion shine through, showcasing the staff's commitment to customer care. With a menu filled with Maine favorites and a homey atmosphere, there’s potential for enjoyment. However, the inconsistency in food quality suggests that improvements are necessary for a truly exceptional dining experience.

Terrible experience. When I showed the manager the quality of the food, she didn’t seem to care. The dish was dry, lacked vegetables, meat, and flavor, and the sauce tasted watery and like tomato paste. We paid $30 for two dozen overcooked bread circles with vegetable and meat fillings.
I ordered a lobster roll at Amato's, but the lobster was spoiled and I even found small hairs throughout it.
Wow, this was amazing! The flavors were fantastic, and the service was excellent. It was impressive to watch them cut some of the vegetables right in front of you. I will definitely be back!

The food was fantastic, and the service was outstanding! We requested our vegetables on the side because we were traveling and didn't want our sandwiches to get soggy, and they were more than happy to accommodate us. They packaged the veggies in plastic containers that held up well during our journey.
The people who work here are incredibly brilliant and friendly. Surely I had some bad experiences, but that happened. Most of my times were great. A staple by WIndham
This place is awesome!! I frequent this establishment because I work just down the street from it and i can promise you that you will always have a great meal if you eat there!! The store managers and staff are more than excellent, they actually remember your name and treat you like family!! The food is always fresh, on point and portions are more than fair!! Dont be shy and stop and say hi! It gets busy around noon time so plan accordingly they are very good at handling orders annd actually answer the phone, order online for fastest pick up)
The food is fantastic, with a wonderful variety to choose from, and the staff are really friendly. However, it seemed like the person making the subs was a bit clumsy, slicing the veggies in a rather erratic manner. They were packing the subs at a really slow pace, which made the wait feel longer. That said, it's definitely worth it! I always come back.

Been eating italians for years and moved out of state, looking forward to one. It was terrible. Ive decided it was the bread, it had crust on both sides and ruined the taste. The bread should be and has been soft on all sides and soaks up the oil. Verydisappointing and my last visit to Amatos
Love, love the original Amatoes sandwiches. When we come to Maine this is a MUST! we split a large double, yum. Had 4 so far this trip!
The staff here are incredibly wonderful and friendly. While I've had a few less-than-ideal experiences, that’s part of any dining journey. Overall, most of my visits have been fantastic. It’s truly a staple in Windham.
I stopped by for lunch today. The Pazzo bread from the warmer was delicious! I picked up a moon sandwich from the cooler, but I noticed it was two days old after checking the label. Once I started eating it, the cheese was melted, and the roll was soggy, so I ended up throwing the sandwich in the trash.
