The Rising Sun pub in Southampton evokes nostalgia for its earlier charm but has garnered mixed reactions from recent visitors. While some diners praise the fantastic food—highlighting dishes like quinoa salad and T-bone steak—others lament lackluster service and a detached atmosphere. Many appreciate the garden's appeal and the pub's family-friendly features, but complaints about unfriendly staff and inefficient drink service persist. Despite these inconsistencies, the pub remains a hub of decent pub grub, with options for everyone, drawing both regulars and those hoping for a delightful dining experience. Overall, The Rising Sun offers potential for improvement.
