The Golden Lion - Winchester

I discovered this pub from a Google search and went purely by the reviews which weren't wrong. A lovely cosy pub with friendly staff plus great food and drink, you can't go wrong.

This is one of the nicest, friendliest pub I have been to in a very long time, we hadn't booked but we were welcomed in, with almost open arms, into an already very busy pub, the food was outstanding. The extra special touches all round were great. The owner is very aware of what people want and need. Even down to personal hygiene and care products in the ladies toilets. Well done Mark and team, absolutely outstanding

If we could give this pub 5 stars plus, then we would! found this pub on Google search while visiting my family. we have all decided to give it after the readings, and we were not disappointed. the food was absolutely delicious, each cure perfectly cooked, very tasteful and well presented, absolute top compliments to the cook. the service was very good, our food arrived in a timely manner and was served with a smile, it was a great experience and we would highly recommend............we will definitely come back when in winchester. great experience.

Lit with the black board menu: perfectly tasty pan fried duck breast, the sirloin steak and cadjau are just as good. highly recommended.

Here for lunch on Saturday, friendly and friendly and accredited, we were an hour early for our booking, which was not a problem for them. service was good and the food was excellent. all three of us had the special bark, mushroom and ale cake, good cake. excellent price-performance ratio, lots of space between tables and lots of space for our large gray-edged to lie away. highly recommended excellent service and excellent eating
