PaM is right in the heart of Winchester's shopping district and near the cathedral. So very handy for a quick lunch etc. Deceptively spacious as it has a large upstairs seating area. Turn around is quick so you can usually find a table even at busy weekend peak periods. The menu is geared around quick to buy and eat items, apart from the usual barista coffee making process time. Their sandwiches are fresh and tasty wi... View all feedback.
What ScoutDubna doesn't like about Pret A Manger:
We only came in for a cup of regular tea, nothing out of the ordinary. The quality of the tea was subpar and not very enjoyable. We were puzzled as to why it was served in a disposable pot with a plastic lid when we were dining in. It would have been more environmentally friendly to use reusable cups. I asked for a flat white coffee to drink there and got a tiny paper cup of coffee. This was obviously very poor value and presentation
I find it extremely disappointing to regularly visit Pret A Manger (s) to find the seating occupied by students, with their laptops, their bags, pencil cases, note books a single drink that has clearly been drunk sometime ago. Majority of the time they are taking up two tables, along with 4 to 5 chairs. Not to mention their feet up on the chairs, I mean come on where are their manners? This isn’t student halls for goodness sake! Winchester is a Cathédrale city, with visitors coming farm far wide, they should be able to come have a coffee, with out having to circle the tables, like they are waiting to come into land. This is certainly not the only Pret that has this problem, Bath is plagued with this attitude to free wifi students intimidating other paying customers. My advice is potential customers, check to see if there is actually space to sit down, before you purchase your drink of choice. Other than that, the food is great, of course, that’s why I like to come into Pret.
Looked everywhere for a traditional lunch time sandwich smoked salmon with cream cheese on brown and found it here delicious.

We visited today as a family of 2 adults and 3 children as a take out customer for a picnic. Food was outstanding however the service was terrible. The guy serving us was French and communication was difficult. We found it difficult to understand him and when we kindly asked him to repeat what he said he seemed to be upset with us. He rolled his eyes and didn't smile once. We spent alot of money today in Pret and but felt the service was definitely lacking its usual friendliness that we are used to.
